McCain Survives Campaign Shakeup

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 18 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-07-02) — When political campaigns reorganize to revitalize a struggling effort, heads roll. However, aides say Sen. John McCain has survived this week’s shakeup in the McCain for President campaign.

Under new management by Steve Schmidt, a former political operative for George Bush, the GOP presidential campaign was expected to jettison everyone who has failed to consistently, and effectively communicate the conservative message to voters.

While Sen. McCain’s name reportedly showed up on the “short list” he has apparently weathered the most recent round of cuts.

Maybe they’ll squeeze him out next shake up.

They have a conservative message? Maybe that’s his October surprise?

    Off topic for a moment:
    From last thread:

et - Rush’s income is (was) 38M per year - now it’s only 50 M he said today he considers it a pay cut since he was expecting 100 M.
after taxes, FICA, etc. It will be under 30 M. Enough for him to cover the matching of the 2.1.1 M paid for the original copy of Dingy Harry’s smear letter. Going to the Marine Corp and Police College Fund for children of parents killed in the line of duty. (They received $4,200,200.00 certified)
With over 20 million dittoheads like me - he earns every cent and does more for America than some sports figure being paid more for being right only 30% of the time - he is certified correct @ 98.8% of the time. So that’s a potential of over 19 M votes for McCain (He has trolls listening too).

OhBummer and his main man et must be living in denial:

We’re beginning to understand why Barack Obama keeps protesting so vigorously against the prospect of “George Bush’s third term.” Maybe he’s worried that someone will notice that he’s the candidate who’s running for it.

Most Presidential candidates adapt their message after they win their party nomination, but Mr. Obama isn’t merely “running to the center.” He’s fleeing from many of his primary positions so markedly and so rapidly that he’s embracing a sizable chunk of President Bush’s policy. Who would have thought that a Democrat would rehabilitate the much-maligned Bush agenda?

Here’s a contest for y’all, the winner wins free admission to the next ScrappleFace2Face.

What Oblahblah lacks in substance he makes up for in __________ .

To be honest, I started to post something and my mind took a vacation. I need to be leaving for church about now, so I thought I’d see if someone can finish the statement with what I was a’gonna say, perhaps something way better than what I had. Something ola said in #6 was the springboard for my vaporous thought.

    Fred,

Try to make up your mind which scurrilous idiot to support. Clearly, even though they are all related, you’re having trouble defending even one of them; it is impossible to defend them all without going completely wacko yourself.

Look at their result will you?

Softly and tenderly, I beseech you; come home.

Wow, even ABC is beginning to recognize the two-step of Wonder Boy. When even the alphabet networks see the contradictions in Obama’s rhetoric and policies as they change from day to day, will his brain-numbed acolytes begin to wake up from their hypnosis?

ola #9: “… will his brain-numbed acolytes begin to wake up from their hypnosis?”

Sorry, ola. They’re still over at Daily Kos, chanting “Four legs, good! Two legs, bad!”

It was a nice thought though …

OLA and RedPepper: I’m just wondering why ABC didn’t get kinda creeped when Obama thought that he’d been to 57 states and had missed one - Hawaii and Alaska. There’s just something wrong with that!! At least McCain knows how many states make up the great US of A.

It’s kind of a shame, really.

    Oh, and hello from Fairbanks!!!

I hear Daily Kos is quite angry with BO for his pragmatic duplicity (lies). I think that’s a good thing; not to mention funny.

Some of the comments on Scott’s post over at Malkin’s blog are comical—many don’t realize it’s satire.

We simply have the most prosperous, freest and strongest country in the history of the world. So we can understand why liberal politicians and their supporters see the need for great change.

Camo, Club-11 used to be at 11-mile out on the highway from Fairbanks to Eielson. It may have been closed. That was 30+ years ago, and I know they re-routed the highway a long time ago, reducing the distance by about 20 percent.

    Enjoy your stay.
