Wright to Offer Prayer Rebuttal at Democrat Convention

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 58 Comments

(2008-05-01) — The Democrat National Committee (DNC) announced today it would allow the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the Official Disavowed Pastor of the Obama for America campaign, to deliver the “invocation rebuttal” at the party’s convention in Denver this August.

“After the traditional opening prayer and the singing of ‘God Bless America’,” said an unnamed DNC source, “the Rev. Wright will have five minutes to call on the Almighty to reject our plea for blessing, refuse to shed his grace on us, and to give our nation what it really deserves.”

Sen. Barack Obama, who this week rejected his pastor’s racially-charged preaching, protested the DNC move, noting, “I would sooner wish to see my racist, white grandmother on the convention stage doing a minstrel show routine, than to allow that bigoted America-hater even one more minute in my spotlight.”

The superdelegates in Denver will have to step in to crown the best representation of two Americas: Edwards/Wright ‘08. The decision is only fair!

Funny stuff Scott! I think Wright would actually take them up on the offer too. And you nailed Barack’s frustration on the head. He only disowns the “good” Reverend when the guy starts raining on his parade.

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was
manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000
jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico,
which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its
    stop in New York.

This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise
ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not
make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the
    cargo was forever lost.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were
eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their
anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of
Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is
known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

WHAT?? You expected something educational from me?

Do ya reckon it’s just coincidental timing that Hildebeast’s appearance in O’Reilly’s “No Spin Zone” wraps up on a traditional day of celebrating communist/socialist ideology?

It is also National Prayer Day and Holocaust Observation Day in Israel. That’s some pretty disparate stuff all falling on the same day.

The pundits are having a field day with Hilly and Mr. Bill. I was up at 0500 to catch the second East Coast re-run of “The Factor”. I wanted to be sure she said what I thought she said in the first half of the interview.

This woman is profoundly frightening, but I’ve got hand her one left-handed compliment: she’s right out in the open about her socialist leanings. No Manchurian Candidate subterfuge here; she’s going for broke with her pronuncements about income redistribution and that “universal health care” scheme that will bankrupt the country.

More on topic, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Obama/Wright sideshow. I’m glad we finally laid that previous thread to rest, but I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop on The Manchurian Candidate and his former buddy.

I think Reverend Wright should be a keynote speaker at the Democritter weenie-roast. Then they can all sing “Kumbayah”, Hildebeast can hijack the nomination, and the civil war can begin.

The more Wright rocks ‘n rolls, and the more Osama Bamalama tries to shake him off like the Ghost of Christmas Past, the funnier it gets.

Waiting for Part II of Hilly’s cynical political bid/”interview” on Scorpion Hill…

I’ll clean out my bank account and buy a ticket for me and my wheelchair and fly to anywhere in America to listen to a sermon by Preacher Jeremiah if the KKK will extend to him an invitation to come to one of their “services” and be their guest speaker. - Wouldn’t miss it for anything.

He’s got a mouth on him when waxing long and mean from his pulpit, in a different venue his tune would likely change.

If as a Marine, he had been in the “Hanoi Hilton” in John McCain’s place for five and a half years he might well enough be singing an even different tune about his God D***ed America.

And if John McCain happens to check in as a visitor to ScrappleFace, I’d like to say, “Mr. McCain, with all due respect, Sir, a country without secure borders is not a country; secure borders are what define a country.”

A snippet from “Family Security Matters” today. I still have a personal letter from J. Edgar dated 1952.

The director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover, died MAY 2, 1972. For 48 years, under eight Presidents, he oversaw the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FDR gave him the task of investigating foreign espionage and Left-wing activist groups. J. Edgar Hoover stated: “The criminal is the product of spiritual starvation. Someone failed miserably to bring him to know God, love Him and serve Him.”

“We can see all too clearly the devastating effects of Secularism on our Christian way of life. The period when it was smart to ‘debunk’ our traditions undermined…high standards of conduct. A rising emphasis on materialism caused a decline of ‘God-centered’ deeds and thoughts. The American home…ceased to be a school of moral and spiritual education. When spiritual guidance is at a low ebb, moral principles are in a state of deterioration. Secularism advances when men forget God.”

    Secularism = Liberalism

Professor Jacques Berlinerblau of Georgetown University referred to Secularists as “the soccer hooligans of reasoned discourse.” He asks (rhetorically), “Can a Secularists commentator discuss any aspect of religion for more than thirty seconds without referring to religious peoples as imbeciles, extremists, mental deficients, fascists, enemies of the public good, crypto-Nazis, conjure men, irrationalists … authoritarian despots and so forth?”

Perhaps President Bush or President McCain should re-establish the FBI’s task of investigating foreign espionage and Left-wing activist groups. An old TV program “The FBI In Peace and War” made “Miami Vice” and “Die Hard 2″ look like a kindergarden exercise. They were the Orkin of the day, rooting out and destroying Anti-American termites.

Today’s liberal kook fringe are the termites, and left unchecked they will continue to eat away at the fabric of American Society, until the structure will collapse of it’s own weight into Socialism/Communism. Then, it will require a new American Revolution to rebuild or restructure the once mightiest nation on earth.

Jeremiah Spite is a real piece of…work, isn’t he? His rant from a few days ago saying that “Louis Farrakhan is not my enemy…he didn’t enslave me, he didn’t put me in chains…” was another classic. So tell us, “Rev.” Spite, when was it that you were ever “enslaved” or “put in chains?” The “chains” of your “enslavement” are in your own mind only, Spite. Instead of spewing your angry, bitter, paranoid, America-hating, racist garbage, you’d be better off undergoing psychotherapy and taking medication to help stop the paranoid delusions! Nutcase!

In 1972 the slogan, “A mind is a terrible thing to waste,” became the banner for The United Negro Collage.

To bad Jeremiah Wright never figured that out.

I was talking with a black woman yesterday who drove me to a meeting (HUD). She yakked away the whole time, but between her breathes I tried to listen to rants on her black radio channel. The commentator was wading deep in the mud of conspiracy theories about 911.

When we finally arrived at the meeting she said, “I believe that Bush had something to do with 911.”

Regretfully I said I wish we had time to talk this situation over. Her whole thing was about the guys who flew into the Trade Center. “It would have been impossible for them to carry that off,” she said.

I only had a moment to say the terrorist had plenty time to practice and likely after Bush leaves office they will try something again.

She looked at me for a moment then agreed likely that will happen again.

So my question is-if she agrees with the later, then why could she not accept the premise that Bush did not order the planes to fly into the WTC??

A mind is a terrible thing to waste

Re: my # 38 - From another Scrappler friend, I got a real nice e-mail regarding my J. Edgar Hoover comment and my personal letter from him.

I replied: No, in fact I was about 14, a Freshman or Sophomore in High School in Marion, Illinois and had seen a piece on FBI fingerprint work and thought being an FBI fingerprint expert would be the best career. So, in my innocence I wrote the FBI asking what courses I should take in High School and College to better prepare myself for the work. I included a stamped self addressed envelope - someone at the FBI must have thought it worthy and taken it to JEH, so I get back this enormous envelope jammed full of brochures all about what fingerprint technicians did. They returned my envelope and a letter from JEH congratulating me on my interest, etc. If I can locate it amid my papers, I’ll copy it and send it to you. Needless to say, I was suitably impressed (enough so that 55 years later, I still have it.) JEH was incredibly thorough, which was why everyone was scared spitless of him because he had dossiers on EVERYBODY with all of their closet skeletons.

About the assassination of JFK, don’t get me started. I happen to know, beyond reasonable doubt, (in my mind) that it was 100% Lyndon Baines Johnson who had him killed. Until I get to heaven and Jesus personally tells me different, I will always believe what I consider credible and irrefutable evidence, that he masterminded (did a pretty good job, eh?) the assassination.

Snippet fom DRUDGE: Perhaps Algore will come to the rescue with a snowshovel?

May blizzard shuts down parts of S. Dakota
RAPID CITY, S.D., May 2 (UPI) — The mayor of Rapid City, S.D., Friday pleaded with residents to stay home as a May blizzard closed down streets and highways in parts of the state.

“Please, stay off the roads until the weather clears. The wind is still gusting to 50 mph with heavy snow,” said Mayor Alan Hanks. “There are very few businesses that are going to open, so take a day off and enjoy it.”

Rapid City police said they would cite any motorists who got stuck in drifts and were traveling on any non-essential business, the Rapid City Journal reported.

City snowplows were working to clear main arteries, major intersections, emergency routes and other hazardous areas.

Private snow removal contractors said the heavy snow and high winds — clocked in excess of 65 mph in some places — made removal efforts almost futile.

Sections of Interstate 90 and Highway 79 were shut down.

    DUTY
    by Fred Sinclair

List’ not to tales the gossips tell
Of deeds some one has done.
For you well know the truth will out
‘Fore this web of life is spun.

‘Tis these that bring down many a man
    And many a maid, foresooth.
Don’t give them credence, look about -
    Above all, seek the truth.

Mayhap a man has made mis-step
    Because his path was rough;
But he who falls may rise again,
If he be made of proper stuff.

And she who falls may not be bad
    Though gossips paints her so.
Do you know what caused her trouble,
All her hardships, do you know?

    So lets not let gossips sway us;
‘Cause our judgement go awry -
    But lets find why these things happen;
We can help them if we try.

For there’s no one, e’en the lowest,
Who was born without a soul -
It remains for us to find them,
Lift them up towards the goal.
