Democrats Push Bush to Start New, More Popular War

(2007-11-19) — After another Democrat attempt to pull U.S. troops from Iraq collapsed in the Senate late last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, today announced a tactical shift designed to force President George Bush to end the war which polls show is unpopular with the American people.

“We call on President Bush to start a popular war,” the two Congressional leaders said in a joint news release. “The American people want a war they can feel good about again, like they do when they watch old movies about World War II.”

Sen. Reid and Rep. Pelosi said they would let the commander in chief decide whom to attack, as long as he asked Congress for a declaration of war, and ensured that the enemy met conditions they called “Recipe for a Popular War.”

The country the U.S. attacks, the Democrat leaders said, should be one that…
1) poses a major threat to world peace,
2) has a track record of aggressively exerting preemptive military power abroad,
3) is ruled by a religious zealot who makes decisions without regard to the will of the people,
4) has an essentially powerless legislature often overruled by the nation’s military commander,
5) demonstrably possesses, and has a history of detonating, nuclear weapons, and
6) has a vast global espionage network that even spies on its own people.

The Democrat lawmakers said once the president declares war against such an enemy, Defense Department funds could be shifted from Iraq to the more popular war, and troops stationed in Iraq could be redeployed to the new battlefront.

    BTW, very clever. Are you getting the daily marching orders from Moveon.org, Dailykos, and Democraticunderground.com? It sure sounds like it sometimes. The only difference is that your stories are parodies and their’s… well, aren’t. As boberin would say, “Good stuff.”

    Yeah, that was my first thought too. Harry “We lost the war” Reid and Nancy “Pull-out-see” want us to fight a war with the U.S. … Well, I guess the Dems are the covert saboteurs that go in ahead of the troops, eh?

    Top 5 newest war fronts closer to home are: Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba and Canada. Since we really fight for oil and the right to pay a $100 a barrel. If we get our way, Chavez has promised to let us pay $200 a barrel.

    The dems need to declare war on typhoons. Look how many innocent people one killed in a single day. 3000 and counting. Wait a minute, maybe Al Gore can tie it into global warming because of all the hot air coming out of the Senate.

    gafisher - I’ve written on this before - going back to 1776 - the sitution had become intolorable.

    “Intolorable” still means the same today as it did then. The Socialist/Communists are bent on destroying The USA (as we’ve known it) and reshaping it into their own image.

    Only instead of a modern version of the Revolutionary War - this will be a modern version of the Civil War.

    One doesn’t have to be a Christian to be a Conservative but as a point of fact, most Conservatives are Christians. It will eventually come down to brother against brother, father against son, etc.

    The current parties will cease to exist, It will assuredly be Conservatives vs Liberals (aka Socialist/Communists)

    I don’t, by any stretch of the immagination, pretend to be a prophet but this is how I see it shaping up. Fortunately for us, they are so “anti-gun” that we will be better armed than they are.

    At my age (70) I’ll probably be long gone before this takes place or Jesus will have returned and all of this will become irrelevant.

    Just experimented to see if there is a website titled “democratunderground.comn”.

    Nope. The Democrat party has it rigged to add an “ic” and redirect. Oh well, at least it costs them a few cents a month that can’t be routed through China to Her Thighness!

    Also tried “democraPunderground.com” and found it either does not exist or has been somehow made unavailable. Tempting, though, to register it and set up a counter-propaganda site.
