(2007-10-17) — On the heels of several hazardous toy warnings, Chinese government officials today announced that “potentially toxic effects” have led it to recall the Dolly Llama, which has become a big hit in the U.S. in recent days, even being received at the White House by President George Bush.
“We never intended for the Dolly Llama to reach American shores,” said an unnamed Chinese government safety spokesman. “And we’re concerned our American friends will be poisoned through contact.”
Meanwhile, the White House moved to calm fears.
“We’re grateful to our Chinese friends for their concern,” said President Bush, “but after spending time with the Dolly Llama, I feel free to bet that he’s perfectly safe, and effective.”

Yeah, but isn’t there a Dolly clone running around?
The Chinese gov’mint ain’t gonna be too happy with that development.

I think the Chinese playbook (which isn’t too different than the American liberal playbook) has lead as a necessary trace element for conservative Americans. That’s why they’re sending all their lead-based crap to capitalist nations.

There were protesters on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the evils of America. An elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20-ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined. The young protester put her hand on the old woman’s shoulder as a gesture of friendship and in a very soft voice said, “Lady, don’t you care about the children of Iraq? “The old woman looked up at her and said, “Honey, my father died in France during World War II, I lost my husband in Korea, and a son in Vietnam. All three died so you could have the right to stand here and bad mouth our country. If you touch me again, I’ll stick this umbrella up your a_ _ and open it.”

Scott, I’m waiting for your story on the Randi Rhodes attack by the right wing hate machine.
I loved the apology on Air America: “I shouldn’t have speculated based on hearsay that Randi Rhodes had been mugged and that it may have been an attack from a right wing hate machine. I apologize for jumping to conclusions based on an emotional reaction,” he said in a written statement.
In other words, “I apologize for calling your army-boot-wearing-ugly mother for being an army-boot-wearing-ugly mother.

red, my pleasure. I strive to see the truth and/or hypocracy in all matters. I’m not always successful but I do know that I have more to learn from those that disagree than from those that don’t.
Thus my morbid desire to visit her regularly.
My amazement that anyone cares about what the media (in any form) has to say or not say about things is genuine though. Rush said this, Air America said that, the NYT said the other thing…who gives a rats patootie?

Again, I find humor and truth in both sides of any discussion and found that to be a bit humorous and quite true too.
Even the old lady admits that those folks fought so that we are free to debate. That’s one reason I find the labeling of debaters (on either side) annoying and view it as an attempt to hide the truth or confuse the issue.
Sigh…

Hello, all. Haven’t been around for little while, I see Scott has been busy as usual.
Totally off topic, but have y’all seen the MSM bemoaning the fact that undertakers in Iraq are suffering now that they have so little business? The Coalition troops are winning, what a tragedy. It’s just so sad.

Yes, the MSM has been bemoaning the plight of Cadaver Bathers.
Thanks to The USA and Israel Cabal their families can no longer afford to live and will surely perish.

38 JamesonLewis3rd // Oct 17, 2007 at 5:01 pm
Now that I think about it…..
I wonder just how many people were assigned to each corpse and, taking that to its logical conclusion:
Could there be dozens or hundreds sustaining their families as the incongruous result of each sad story?
I also wonder just how many people work for that Undertaker (or whatever-the Islamic version). I wonder if he owns the land they’re buried in (I guess they bury their dead?). I wonder if he’s a Multi-Billionaire…..

True story according to Jeff Merron in ESPN.com, Reel Life:
The Dalai Lama’s not a golfer. But when the Tibetan leader visited the United States last year, Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura asked him if he’d ever seen “Caddyshack.” He told Ventura he hadn’t seen the movie. But, Ventura said, “Before he [the Dalai Lama] left, he looked at me and said, ‘Gunga, gunga la-gunga’.”

A new low for the New York Times which posted this new pro-terrorist propaganda piece under the guise of informing the American people of the plight of “freedom fighters” in Iraq!
I didn’t think it possible but these people are far slicker and more sophisticated than Joseph Goebbels. I bet the terrorist “insurgents” in Iraq were very flattered. But if these terrorists really represent the aspirations of normally peace-loving Iraqis, then why haven’t the Iraqi population rallied to their cause of “liberation”?
Pretty twisted stuff that pushes all the liberal media buttons that certain lamestream journalists and “news” outlets have carefully cultivated in their fifth column war against the Bush Administration the last four years. All it needed was an endorsement by the Dali Lama …you know, in the name of peace, the Islamic version of “peace” that is.
And what’s really pathetic is the average moonbat would view this clip and actually agree with the propaganda! Ya see, Iraqi insurgents are like America’s own founding fathers and they are only murdering innocent civilians and blowing up children in hopes of establishing their progressive dream of a righteous Iraq committed to peace and the brotherhood of all good Muslims under the global Islamic caliphate … all because Bu$Hitler’s brain-dead soldier pawns came along and mucked things up by playing Rambo. You see, the devil (Great Satan America) made them do it!
Kool-aid swilling left-wing media tools all!

China, N. Korea and Iran are matters of concern to America - (not to mention the spector of “Manmade” Global Warming) yet we have greater concerns that are being given a mere shrugging of the shoulders. i,e. - Insanities
insanity |inˈsanitē| |1nˌsønədi|
noun
the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness : he suffered from bouts of insanity | [as complement ] he attempted to plead insanity.
• extreme foolishness or irrationality : it might be pure insanity to take this loan | the insanities of our time.
ORIGIN late 16th cent. : from Latin insanitas, from insanus (see insane ).
I’ve heard as most have, that the proper definition of insanity was “Continuing to repeat the same action over and over again, expecting a different result.”
For over six decades people have been voting the Democrat ticket because they were promised “Pie in the sky, the moon and all the Daisies in the field” - Yet today they are actually in worse circumstances than their grandparents who first bought into that lie.
“Insanity” is the only word in the English language to describe this hoax.
If Mrs. Bill Clinton wins the Presidency in ‘08 - “Hell on Earth” will cease to be just a ‘catch phrase’ - The only recourse is for Conservatives to shake off their mantle of complacency and get off their duffs and vote.
Otherwise America (with all of it’s scars and warts) as we know it; will cease to exist!!! Failure to do so, as Will Rogers stated: “People generally get the kind of Government they deserve”.
I can only pray to God that He will not bring on America the judgement we so richly deserve, as He did when He gave over His people to the Egyptian Pharoah and later to the Nazism of Adolph Hitler.
Our complacency in not voting as a protest or simply being too lazy may result in that woman gaining office.
Now if it were Judge Janice Rogers Brown and Lynn Cheney - I’d be at the head of the line to vote for them, so I have zero problem with a woman being President - Golda Meir and Margaret Thatcher are prime examples of what women can do.
Heirborn Ranger
53 everthink // Oct 18, 2007 at 4:23 pm
It is good and very relevant to post the definition of insanity, particularly on THIS site. However, about 75% of Americans know it when we see it! A good example of insane behavior was seen strutting on the television yesterday, warning (threatening) of World War III.
If only the rest of you, including the one who posted it, would just reflect awhile on it; that, and the meaning of Christianity, the faith which lefts up the “Prince of Peace” who admonishes all to “love your neighbor.”
“If Mrs. Bill Clinton wins the Presidency in ‘08 - “Hell on Earth” will cease to be just a ‘catch phrase’ –“.
To a many it is not just hyperbole, to say this IS “Hell-on-Earth” particularly, the Iraqis, many of our armed forces, the folks who lived in New Orleans, but also all of us who live under the thumb of “The Decider”.
54 everthink // Oct 18, 2007 at 5:33 pm
“Bush needs to snarl (as teenagers used to),”Get off my back”,to ,soon to be, Mr “Dictator For Life” Putin.”
How, a person can of such dignity as an American President, snarl as a teenager, and say such stupid words on behalf of the our people?
First, he’s doing that “deep looking” eye thing of his, now you want him to say something “hormonal”, who knows where that could lead.
What’s the difference between a “Dictator” and a “Decider” anyway?
