Giuliani’s Pro-Choice Stand: Abortion Cuts Dem Voters

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 18 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2007-05-10) — Rudy Giuliani this week plans to come out of the closet as the first openly pro-choice presidential candidate among leading Republicans, boldly making the case to conservatives that abortion “may be the GOP’s most effective electoral tool,” according to campaign insiders.

“Abortion disproportionately kills off blacks, the poor and those who live in metropolitan areas that are traditional Democrat strongholds,” said an unnamed Giuliani campaign source. “While pro-life Republicans hate to see anyone chopped up and yanked from the womb, knowing that it affects mostly liberals may make Rudy’s pro-choice stand more palatable.”

Top campaign aides reportedly believe that standing strong for abortion rights also reinforces Mr. Giuliani’s reputation as the “law and order” candidate and as “America’s mayor,” a moniker he earned for his courageous reaction to the 9/11 terror attacks. His communication team plans to integrate all of these messages into a single “holistic red state pro-choice strategy.”

“Here’s the guy who got the thugs and bums off of the streets as mayor of New York City,” the source said. “We believe we can make a solid case that his support for abortion prevents future criminals and homeless people from ever seeing the light of day.”

In addition, while Mr. Giuliani intends to tread lightly around the still-sensitive issue of the World Trade Center attacks, his campaign plans to float the idea that the 9/11 victims themselves might have preferred a quick, early death by abortion rather than to be brutally cut off in the prime of life by terrorists.

If these appeals to conservatives fail to gain traction, the campaign’s “Plan B” calls for positioning Mr. Giuliani as a libertarian civil rights icon, boldly fighting for euthanasia for the unborn, “who can’t speak up for their own right to die.”

As on of my uncles used to say: I’m all for liberals aborting their babies, there’ll be less of them in the long run to screw up this country.

My uncle wasn’t exactly politically correct.

Sheesh … where’s my coffee? Should read “As ONE of my uncles …” Doh!

It’s only too true! With abortion and homosexual marriages, the liberals are the surce of their own demise.

Let them cast their own golden calf and worship in their “Church of Godless”.

“The Roe Effect” has almost certainly affected the political and ideological balance in the US and elsewhere, but I’d rather see those murdered children grow up.

Well, I know thi s is supposed to be funny, but it’s too true to be really funny. Kinda under the “sad but true” umbrella, I guess. :)

While the country certainly would benefit from fewer Libs, at least if they are allowed to live we may CONVERT some of them or their children, if they don’t abort them.

    From the last thread

-Speculation: One way to possibly guarantee a Conservative Republican victory in 2008 would be for President Bush to follow the lead of his friend, Tony Blair and resign. Vice President Richard B Cheney, about three hours after being officially sworn in as the new President, could opt to also resign. Thereby elevating Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi into office as the new President.

The Media would go nuts! Mrs. Bill Clinton would have a total breakdown. President Pelosi, caught totally off guard would be walking around, sucking her thumb, muttering, “Duh, er, I mean, er, What do I do now?” her aides would be staggering around, pulling their thumb out of their mouth, mumbling, “Gee, uh, I dunno, what do we do next?” She would then be tasked with the responsibility of issuing the “cut and run” directive, that the liberals have so forcefully demanded. Cooler heads would point out to her that “cut and run” was not an option.

During the following months remaining in her “Presidency, there would be little she could do, other than display to all America just who and what the liberals really are. - that alone should be more than enough to ensure a Conservative victory in ‘08. Quite possibly bring about the imploding and total meltdown of the Democrat Party. It could take another 50 - 60 years for them to recover.

A fantasy? Of course! But it’s my fantasy and I would love to live long enough to witness its becoming reality.

btw - I know there are a number of Scrapplers who have good intentions but…..good intentions don’t get the cows milked. Scott has thoughtfully provided a PayPal icon in the uppr right corner of the page. I suspect that he didn’t put it there because the page needed more decorations. He probably was hoping that some would feel led to use it,

Coffee is $1.17 at Dennys - that’s only $35.00 per month. I squeeze it out of my Social Security check and I know there are many of you who can do much better. don’t let your good intentions remain pipe dreams - today is a great day to do something.

Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword for the king. He then gave an order: “Cut the living child in two and give half to one and half to the other.” 1 Kings 3:24-25

While the Libs drone on in support of abortion, homosexual marriage, and population control to reduce global warming… the Muslims are reproducing in record numbers. Maybe they will rule the world. Sheesh!

I think I saw a movie that went along those lines. Somehow the evil scientist determined who would commit crimes before the criminal did it and the hero rode off into the sunset-or something like that.

If only we knew who would become a liberal we could put them in a zoo before any harm has been committed

    GOP: “Say good night, Rudy.”

    Giuliani: “Good night, Rudy.”

No doubt that soul-sellers exist in the (R) party. They’ll point to polls saying Rudy is the only (R) who can beat Shrillary in ‘08, and they’ll say Rudy’s hardball stance against Islamism dwarfs the “abortion issue” in importance.

If the GOP falls for that, and if it turns a blind eye to the continued and unabated slaughter of the unborn-in return for its 30 pieces of silver and the Presidency-why would any pro-life conservative vote (R) in ‘08?

Were Rudy to be the (R) ‘08 nominee, then, concerning abortion and quoting George Wallace’s 1968 campaign theme: “There ain’t a dime’s worth of difference between the two major parties.”

If Rudy and Schwarzenegger are the faces of the (R) party, then it’s adios, muchachos, to the party for pro-lifers. Let’s see how far these mealy-mouthed Whigs get without pro-life support. As Wallace also said: “Send ‘em a message!”

    Santini,

Too right! I won’t be voting for Rudy, in any case. There’s sure to be better choices, even if they ain’t Republicans…

  • 16 The Great Santini // May 11, 2007 at 12:13 am

    Beerme:

Can Rudy square the circle on this issue? If he can, the (R)s will be a minority party for the foreseeable future.

    Virtual brewskis all around!

Don’t forget that there are millions of dollars falling on the way side with all the killing of these babies. Oops, I mean when a woman chooses to terminate her pregnancy…

I give up…what is the difference!
