(2002-10-21) — North Korea’s ceremonial head of state, Kim Yong Nam, said his country is willing to negotiate with the United States about nuclear weapons. He offered to meet U.S. negotiators in the neighborhood of Make Believe, near Mr. Rogers’ house.
Kim Yong Nam, which translated means King Friday XIII said he is ready at a moment’s notice to hop on the trolley to Make Believe where he will present substantive agreements, even more important sounding than the 1994 Agreed Framework.
The North Korean leader added, “When you wake up ready to say, ‘I think I’ll make a snappy new day,’ it’s such a good feeling, a very good feeling, the feeling you know that we’re friends.”
