(2002-10-1) — John Walker Lindh, the American who joined the Taliban, denies a Time magazine report that he was pregnant with the child of a Pakistani business man.
Last week, Time reported that Lindh had a homosexual affair with the man, because the Pakistani had said in broken English, “He was liking me very much. All the time he wants to be with me. I was loving him. Because love begets love, you know.”
This week Time quoted the Pakistani as saying, “Mr. Walker was carrying my child.”
Lindh’s attorney said his client indeed used to carry his friend’s 5-year-old boy on his shoulders during family shopping trips.
A spokeperson said Time will soon begin publishing the popular newsweekly completely in broken English, a language spoken by millions of people worldwide.
