kajun, I WISH I had the power to stop this horrible joke of nature this weekend. But, as Beerme says, we Michiganders can handle anything. In fact, after 3 BEAUTIFUL weeks (I was even hoping for rain so the leave would pop, which they did the last two days.....meandering......was thinking earlier today, that Crayola should have a shade of green called "springtime willow green"....huh? wha? oh, yeah Beerme can also back me up on this one..."Don't like the weather in Michigan? Wait 5 minutes, it'll change!" Yep, we Michiganders are made of sturdy stuff. Almost as sturdy as the folks from further north, eh, Ms.RW?

Coincidence? I report, you decide. Kudos Beerme. Did you compose that and sit on it until an opportune moment, or was that off the cuff? Excellent.

O.K. Ms.RW, that did it. Now to the MargeinMI 5 Minute NachoNummy: Put nacho chips on a plate. Crush to desired fork/mouth-ful. Sprinkle librally (not democratically) with desired CHEESE (taco, sharp chedar, etc.) Dump hot salsa to taste on top of CHEESE. Nuke on 50% for 2:30. CHEESE should be sufficiently melted. Shake salad mix out of 'salad in a bag' on top of melted chips/CHEESE/salsa. Squirt ranch dressing over 'salad' topping. ENJOY! O.K! Talked myself right into it while previewing........ Catch y'all in the a.m. Sweet dreams.

May I just say how blessed I am with my public school district. I feel I'm out of the norm in this country. It is very small, one elementary school and a combined middle and high school. There has been no after school tutoring this year due to cut-backs in Title I, they're not going to know until the last two weeks of school if there's going to be summer school this year (due to lack of funding), there was an article in the local paper last month that this district might be shut down in 2-3 years for lack of funding. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO Jenny Grandholm!!!! Where's the Lottery money??? Where's our share of the $10 BILLION of No Child Left Behind? How come Michigan's education was in recovery mode until you took office? Watch out for this one folks. Thank goodness she's Canadian and can't be POTUS (flip side of AAAhnold). Wow. Off brand soup (not as good as Campbells [still don't know or care to do the trademark thingy], a little tangy zip of miracle whip (see above) on onion rye (remind me to compliment my local SMALL grocer for getting some good bread!) and swiss in the toaster oven. Pearblossom is a lovely name for a town. There's a town near me that has a "Bologna Festival" every year. Complete with the Bologna Queen (her mama must be so proud). I don't understand what you mean by, "We now support 3 Starbucks." So is it like by drinking so much of their coffee (look out Big Java), or the town is big enough to have 3? I have to drive 30 miles to get to a Tim Horton's, 17 mile to McDonald's/KMart/Kroger. (I personally put at least one tire on the Home Depot Nascar car!) (Per year)

I didn't knock out the power to 60 sq. miles (and I had juice for 2 hours after every town within 30 miles was out...kids sent home at 9:30 in 5 districts!) with my whimpy 18.5 hp mower. Besides, I pulled that fence with my Hands and my BACK and the use of a broom handle pry-bar. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE USEFULNESS OF LEVERAGE. After 7 years of cleaning up my little corner of the universe, you'd think it would be getting easier. Have had excellent luck so far this year (knock on wood), just missed a piece of rebar sticking up about 4" above grade, buried in old grass. I got the shovel and dug down a good 15' all around the thing, and it won't even tilt. It's IN there. At least I didn't waste my deck finding it! WheW! What a great Spring so far!!!!! Angus, re: your 3:18 post... I can testify as far as the 'sticks' go. I live pretty near them, you just go on down, left at the 5th streetlight on the left, go one mile exactly (look at the tripometer or you'll miss it) and turn left and it's there on the corner. The place with the silo. (FYI, these are directions for night time travel, it's actually easier than in the day. ;o) ) anywaaaaay...... Usually it smells great out here in flyover land. The one exception however, occurs this time of year when the farmers are "fertilizing" (notice the scare " quotes, not the whimpy ' quote marks). It's the earthy smell of spring, and I FAR prefer it to the smog of the city. Fall used to be my favorite season, but since living in the country for the past 10 or so years, now it's spring. We've had the best one this year by far in the past 6 years. Whatcha think Beerme? (20 miles to my west) Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Oh, and ON TOPIC: Give me a good strong Swiss with a glass of wine, or a pepperjack melty dip thingy with guacamole. (dinnerdinnerdinnertime)

BHB: Enough already! I went back and read the posts and to my thinking, camojack was expressing his opinion. You came off like a tantrum throwing child. I'm not Catholic, but have read a bit of history. The Catholic Church HAS in the past been, "greedy and corrupt." (Why do you think Martin Luther did what he did?????) They've changed the rules over the years to suit their needs. Does that make camojack a 'bigot'? If so, then I guess I'm one too. I don't look down on Catholics, I just don't agree on some of their practices. It's called 'disagreement.' There's plenty of that in the Christian faith, hence so many denominations. It seems that YOU have taken a 'holier than thou' attitude, dissing camo's answers, calling names and generally acting like a two-year old. kajun, My neighbors across the street had a vicious rooster a few years ago. My house is a bungalow, with a big window on the front, second story. In the spring, when I opened the window, that *#(%)@^%^*@($#@ rooster would start at 4:00 a.m. One day (a Saturday as I recall as I was home all day,) that *@90%)(@(*$&% rooster started at 4:00 a.m. and crowed (I'm NOT exaggerating--I would never lie to my Scrapplebuddies) EVERY TWO MINUTES until 4:00 p.m. He was sooooooo lucky I don't own a firearm! Thank goodness they got rid of it soon afterwards. Then the neighbor down the road lost all her chickens except one, and her rooster to a coyote. The rooster wouldn't go in the coop anymore and roosted in a pine tree outside their bedroom window. Needless to say, they were looking to get rid of it. They were contemplating giving it to the people across the street from me, but after much pleading and begging from me and the people across the way, she gave it to somebody else miles away. WHEW! Also helped the neighbor get out the porch furniture! Now we can sit outside in the morning and watch the grass dry so we can get mowing! (Life is tough in the country ;o).) RE: Lack of new posts. My theory is that: a)Maestro Scott has a job beyond serving our blogging needs. b)He's taking a rest after the marathon of posts dedicated to Ms. Schivo. c)He's letting the trolls get bored before posting something absolutely brilliant about the Pope. d)He went on vacation. Don't dispair Newbies! He's left us hanging for quite a while before (maybe two weeks?) I recall a thread (I call it Cassandra's Birthday Thread--same b-day as my boy that's how I remember) that went over 1000 posts. We solved all sorts of computer glitches, exchanged receipies, harvested a few good song paradies, etc. We can still have fun! I just hope Scott knows how much we appreciate this wonderful place to come and share with each other. I know for myself, I feel I know so many of you personally, even though I've never met you. Sometimes I catch myself when I hear some news thinking, "I wonder what Mack would say about THAT!", or "What a great movie, I hope Ms. RW is watching it too.", or "Maybe I should start a chapter of SPAM here in MI. Possumtrot can't cover the whole country!" I lurk a lot, and rarely post on topic, but I'm a Scrappleface junkie and I admit it. I don't want a 12 step program to quit either! Do y'all need another wake up call in the morning?

Hank, I don't think even Congresscritters would actually steal airline food. They're used too MUCH better than that. Miss Spelling, On first reflection, I can't think of any first hand, but second hand: A friend of mine worked with a guy named Richard Face. And yes, he went by the obvious short (don't know physiologically [sp?], personally) version of that name that starts with 'D'. Another was someone my sister went to school with in high school, in Detroit. Her parents had the gall to name her Chanda Leir. Best I can do this late at nite.

He could be really compassionate and divide the families while they starve. As it is such a peaceful and euphoric way to go, who needs the company of their loved ones at their deathbeds? Let 'em suffer on their own. Um, oops, I mean float euphorically to their own demise. (M.S. has denied Terri's brother and sister and parents to be in the room. Scum!)
