Headline: Jimmy Carter Attack Sub Armed with Nerf Missiles And yes, we talk funny, but we think Right! Personally, this Californian rather enjoys listening to southern accents...what is it that Jeff Foxworthy says? They're so unsophisticated sounding? Headline: Election Leaves Iraq in 'Quagmire of Compromise' Rick...I guess Mr. & Mr. Pearcey of Berkeley are going to get a little taste of 'free speech' tomorrow night, aren't they? I can't believe they put that thing back up. Did you hear about their former tenants, 3 republican college students who moved out because the Pearcey's wanted to put John Kerry signs up for the election? They said it was their property and if they wanted to put political signs up they could, even if the tenants didn't agree. Headline: Kennedy: U.S. Troops Restrict Al Qaeda Civil Rights CalGirl, I once met a black woman who worked at the EEOC. Compared with the woman you mentioned, she makes the California woman seem like an angel, hard working, and just brilliant. I´m sure that is not a fair generalization of all people at the EEOC, but she was awful. She must have been responsible for inappropriately analyzing many, many cases. I wouldn't doubt it. As Santini mentioned, our district has had a tough couple of years...Newdow's original POA suit was against us, we had a 'coulda been like Columbine' incident last year at our school, lots of stuff. It's been a downer for morale, let me tell you. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-28 22:13:57 Top |
Headline: Kennedy: U.S. Troops Restrict Al Qaeda Civil Rights Racial discrimination is an exclusive product of, and only practiced in Dixie, of course. Tell me about it--today I got this thing to announce about a Black student conference this summer, so I did. A kid asked me if you had to be black to attend, and I said yeah. Well, that's racist. Nope, blacks aren't racist. But if it were a white group that said that only whites could attend the shan would hit the fit. Interesting conversation with the students. The black kids were very quiet, as if even they can see how illogical that is. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-28 21:21:47 Top |

Headline: Sen. Clinton Tells Abortion Rally: 'I'm Pro-Chife' When Darwin’s book came out in 1859, Marx read it and exulted: “Darwin’s book is VERY important and serves me as a BASIS for the class struggle in history.” “Basis”, as we know, is a strong word meaning “the foundation” or “underpinning” upon which something is built. In other words, we learn from the horse’s mouth itself that the very foundation of Marxist Communism--the one thing that underpins the whole concept and holds it up--is an all-out belief in the evolution of man and everything else out of energy and matter, and a corresponding all-out belief that whatever teachings there are that God Created everything are teachings that must be purged from peoples minds. Not a leftist huh? Whatever Marx might have got out of Darwin's work, it was NOT Darwin's intent in any way, shape or form. Quite the contrary, in fact. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-25 23:00:42 Top |

Headline: CBS 'Memogate' Report Sparks Calls to Fire Rumsfeld And good ol' Dan is saying that nobody has proved that the 'memos' were false. Sheesh. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-10 15:09:28 Top |
Headline: CBS 'Memogate' Report Sparks Calls to Fire Rumsfeld And who was TERMINATED rather than asked to resign? What a shame. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-10 12:17:35 Top |

Headline: Arab Leaders Warn Palestinians of Ballot Contagion Personally, I just think we should blame GWB for everything that goes wrong in the universe...it's simple, all inclusive, and so much better than actually taking the blame for anything ourselves, don't you think? And, since he is going to be a two term prez, we can go on blaming him for years to come (Reagan is still being blamed for stuff, so why not?). But I do have a question for everyone...in WWII, we dropped a couple of humongous atomic bombs on one of the most seismically active chunks of crust on the Earth (that would be Japan). No earthquakes that I ever heard about, and no tsunamis. Has our technology increased so much over the last 60 years that now we CAN cause such catastrophic 'natural' events at a time and place of our chosing? Hey...just askin'. Wouldn't put anything past GWB and the rest of them &$%@ Americans. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-09 12:13:08 Top |

Headline: Succotash Industry Joins War on Child Obesity Oh gosh, if George Lucas did put a mini Jar-jar as succotash he'd never hear the end of it, would he? It would be worth it just to watch the indignant outcry from Jesse Jackson. I hate lima beans. Pouring rain here this morning, scrapplers...we're like 180% of our normal rainfall. Don't think we are going to have to worry about drought this year...But not snow. I wore shorts yesterday. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-07 08:50:43 Top |
Headline: Sen. Boxer Quits 'Flawed' Political System Hank, there were four resounding votes AGAINST Boxer from this household in November. Not that it did a bit of good, but at least we have earned our right to grumble about her antics now. Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-06 22:35:01 Top |

Headline: CNN Telethon to Aid Tsunami Coverage Somehow I knew that would get you, oh, great one. Heheeh. And I don't get this whole tsunami thing either...I cannot believe that NO ONE in the area knew the risk of catastrophic waves after an EQ of that magnitude. They didn't have a wave warning system up and running because it takes the wave of the century to do that much damage? Isn't that enough? I can't believe that people who live, and have for generations lived, that close to the ocean didn't know what was going to happen, especially when the water receded. And the European etc. tourists who sat there on the beach? Shouldn't they be better educated than that? I realize I am a science teacher and teach geology, but still...is this really not common knowledge? Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-05 17:39:08 Top |

Headline: Rescued Thai Dolphin Feeds Hungry Village Good point... Elizabeth Santini...hmmmm... And back on topic, how much do you want to bet that Scott gets a cease and desist order from PETA for this post? Satire it may be, but PETA doesn't have much of a sense of humor that I have noticed. Headline: Rescued Thai Dolphin Feeds Hungry Village Yeah, well, maybe. But my daughter was in the Cal band when she was in college, and they had their own version of USC's boring 'fight song:' This is/the only song you know/it's boring and it's slow/your SATs are low/OJ killed Nicole/ Etc. It gets tackier, but I won't go there, heheh. USC had the rudest band and fans Elizabeth had the displeasure to visit or host. She hated going down there for football games. Headline: CNN Telethon to Aid Tsunami Coverage Ah, Santini, that's too easy. You can just about blame Bush for anything these days and people will believe it. Don't send that check just yet, Ms. Righty! Posted by CalGirl on 2005-01-05 16:28:31 Top |
Headline: Rescued Thai Dolphin Feeds Hungry Village I got a voice mail from a friend last night during the game...wanted to know if I had gone to USC (heaven forbid!) or if they were my college's rivals. She couldn't remember. I guess I should be glad a Pac10 team won, but it's really hard to root for either USC or Stanfurd to beat anybody. Partisan hack that I am...
