Hell Opens New Wing to House Iraqi Leaders

(2003-03-30) -- The department of physical plant in Hell announced today the addition of a new wing on the eternal damnation complex to house President Saddam Hussein, Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and other top government officials.

"We've been big admirers of the Iraqi leadership all along, but now they've really outdone themselves," said an unnamed spokesman, referring to the regime's use of civilians as military shields, and suicide bombers to take advantage of the "weakness of mercy" displayed by U.S. and British troops.

"When Saddam and his boys get here," said the spokesman, "I think they'll find familiar surroundings. It will be a lot like Iraq under their regime, only more intense...and of course, everlasting."

After we liberate Iraq, we may need to liberate the poor souls in hell?

I heard there was a Jacques ChIRAQ pavillion as well.

Posted by: Mikey at March 30, 2003 11:40 AM

Ba'alzemon, flesh eating corrupter of the 5th circle, was seen affixing small shards of broken glass to a rough 1-inch wooden dowell rod.
"I've got my eye on a few of Saddams boys" croaked the beast. "I think eternity is going to be a little more fun here soon."
He then turned his attention to a large steaming vat of offal. "Make it hotter," he ordered, whipping the sub demon stoking the flames. "Saddam likes it bubbly."

Posted by: Greyhawk at March 30, 2003 11:50 AM

The unnamed spokesmen added that the new construction will not interrupt the current project, expanding the Gates of Hell.

We want to be sure that Michael Moore fits comfortably. The spokesmen was quoted as saying "after watching the the awards ceremony we immediatly contacted our engineering department. They concluded that, discounting the ten pounds that TV is known to add, he never would have fit, anyway".

The gates should be ready in time for his arrival. When asked how soon that would be the spokesmen answered "have you ever seen that guy eat? He should be here any day now"!

Posted by: mike at March 30, 2003 12:24 PM

Hell needs another new wing for the anti-bush protesters and the media that doesn't cover the atrocities they're committing.

My step-son is a Marine stationed at Twenty-Nine Palms. My daughter-in-law told me that when she and the other wives go on base, they have had to go through the protesters while the protesters yell horrid things like "I hope your man dies".
Yeah, real peaceful and loving like. While my son stands ready and waiting to protect their freedom, these freakish cowards show their true colors.

My first reaction was a deep desire to kill them all and let God sort 'em out. But then I realized that the left are collectively exposing themselves. No more masks. No more shades of gray.

We have seen the enemy and it's the left.

Posted by: ams at March 30, 2003 12:45 PM

ams - those protesters who abuse your son and wife are disgraceful. There should be a "DMZ" around military bases to prevent these idiots from harrassing our bravest citizens. #$###! cowards! Rest assured there is a special Hell Hall just for them.

I hope the Coalition turns over all the hideous thugs and henchmen carrying out Saddams hateful bidding to the local populaces and to the Kurds. My bet is they'd tear them to shreds in the public squares and feed them to Satan slowly by the spoonsful.

Posted by: AHA at March 30, 2003 02:02 PM

Today, the Iraqi Ambassador to the UN stated publicly on television that it was not Saddam and his thugs that gassed the Kurds ..... it was the CIA!

He also publicly stated that the reports from Amnesty International and the Human Rights Watch that has, for many years, documented atrocities suffered by the Iraqis from Saddam are lies and propaganda and an instrument of the US and UK to justify this "attack" on the peaceful nation of Iraq.

I figure Saddam must have his family in a dungeon.

How about that US Ambassador Negroponte walking out of the UN in protest of the ludicrous accusations by this Iraqi mouthpiece? Right on, Ambassador !

Last night, Jeaneane Garafolo stated publicly on TV that people who are protesting the protesters are missing the point of democracy. The other guy on the progam told her that freedom of speech wasn't reserved for her and her fellow protesters.... she was indignant and CONFUSED as to why he just didn't get it. So she took refuge in insults to Fox News anchors and "redneck" inbreeders....

Posted by: AHA at March 30, 2003 02:12 PM

The new wing that Saddam and his boys will occupy will also house an exclusive cafe, The Garafolo Grill, for their dining pleasure. Start your meal with Susan Sarandon Chemical Soup and follow with one of Garafolo's horrible entrees which include the famous Triple MMM big boy special (Michael Moore Meat Plate). Saddam and his boys will likely end their meal with one of the unique desserts on the menu which run the gamut, from Protester Pudding to Bush-Basher Bakes.

Reservations required.

Posted by: AHA at March 30, 2003 02:22 PM

Not to worry about the Left.. they have their own private hell here now the way things are. What could be worse for them than being behind in the polls.

Saddam and company (and all his clones) will also be forced to wear full CBR gear from now until hell freezes over... that stuff looks like the devil anyway.

Posted by: Phrog Poet at March 30, 2003 02:33 PM

ams; the craziest and most confusing thing about the abusing protesters, is what exactly are they protesting? If they are protesting against violence, hate, etc. Then why are they wishing violence and spewing such hateful vitriol on others? How can they see themselves as peaceful, loving, transcendant or whatever when they are behaving in such vile ways? Garafolo is right. I don't get it. Maybe I'm an inbred redneck and didn't know it. But my take is,whenever you result to insults and namecalling, your argument (or your communication) is a miserable failure. The good thing is, most of us (Americans, redneck or not) love and appreciate all our troops and want them all home safely.

Cowards they are, cowards they stay. It started the day they first lied to their mothers.

Guess it's useful to remember that the protesters represent such a small percentage of America (and really, a sub-microscopic percentage of the world population) that Hell need not expand to contain them. Granted they are noisy and obnoxious and many are indeed evil (while others are merely foolish dupes - dangerous, yes, but dupes) but my point is that Hell has plenty of existing space for them.
And won't the living the rest of their lives under rocks seem like Hell to them anyway?

Some good news: Heard today on the news that the phones are out in Baghdad and that the Iraqi military are using two way radios and other wireless ways to communicate. Their conversations are going to be really easy for our Delta Force Commandos and CIA agents to intercept It's only a matter of time before Baghdad is ours. People seem to forget about our forces that are already inside Baghdad raging the intelligence war because we hear very little about it. Trust me people, we know where Sadam is and his two sons. The Devil is awaiting their arrival.

What has me worried is that they are going to use Chemical Weapons once we get inside Baghdad and blame us for it. The Iraqis are already putting the idea out there by accusing us of having these weapons. Stupid bastards. If we really wanted to "extermiate" all Iraqis, like they said we do, we would simply drop "the bomb" on them and turn their asses to glass. It would save a whole of money and American Lives. But we love them so much that we are doing this war the hard way and we aren't getting any appreciation for it. Go figure.

And, in my personal opinion, the reason why the rest of the world thinks it's their right to rise up and protest the U.S. in this war is because they can't protest against their own governments without worry of being killed so all of their frustrations, of living their pathetic lives, are being taken out on us. Poor bastards.

One more thing and I'm done. If those asshats are going to come to our soil to do suicide bombings, please hit the so called "Peace" rallies first. Thank you.

Would God countenance the kind of horrors Saddam Hussein is visiting on his own people?

Would the God who destroyed Sodom and Gomorah to protect his people Israel be so blind in the ways of peace that he would turn his back on those in need?

How can people JUDGE President Bush's motives without proof or evidence (blood for oil etc.) but not be willing to JUDGE Saddam Hussein's actions in the face of overwhelming evidence?

We can hear the cries of the widows and the orphans in Iraq. What would a just God do to us if we left those cries to remain unheeded, unaided, unavenged?

I voted for President Bush and I remain behind him if for no other reason than the fact that I trust him. I know he can make mistakes, but if he does, they will be honest mistakes. I cannot believe that he would be such an evil man as to want to kill people for *anyone's* monetary profit. Anyone who has JUDGED President Bush as being capable of something so low doesn't know a thing about him.

Question his actions if you believe he is acting with less information than you have (although I sincerely doubt he is... quite to the contrary.) Do not question his sincerity unless you have proof of alternative motives.

Michael Moore's excuse for making the statements he did was that the Pope is against this war. Unfortunately the Pope himself doesn't have all of the information available to President Bush. Who's to say that if he did he too would call this a just war?

Saddam Hussein has proven his metal, please allow President Bush... right or wrong to prove his!

Christ preaches peace... but not the absense of war, but an inner peace (Shalom.) If you are seeking other forms of peace, you are deluding yourself. True peace can come to this imperfect world only through the hands of the perfect (Christ's hands on the Cross.) Absense of war can only come from those who have the strength to demand it and the will to use that strength. Our world has only seen that path to peace once in history... historians call it the PAX ROMANA. We have the ability and the will to form a new peace... PAX AMERICANA. Not with wishful thinking or psychoanalyzing the bad guys to death but by standing up and demanding peace and preventing those who would use war for their own selfish purposes from ever having the strength to do so. It is universally recognized that using deadly force in defense of a third person is not wrong.

I suspect that the only reason this "blood for oil" mantra has even come up is that people who already have a bone to pick with the President couldn't possibly believe that he has a darn good reason to make the decisions he's made. Time will tell if his decisions were good or bad and our time to judge him will be in November of 2004. Until then don't presume to think you know more than he does.

foamius... you sure have access to information the rest of us don't. Either that or you are reading a lot into this. The only people I've heard with timetables and strategy are the Monday Morning Quarterbacks assisting the talking heads on TV... I haven't seen any detailed war plans... and if you have watch out... divulging that could be considered Treason.

(Happy Greyhawk?) ;)

"So bye-bye Miss American Pie..."

Eventually the blessing God has given the world by expanding America's influence will go away. Then will come a time of untold horror as immoral and unreligious Europe rules the world. What then will become of the "Iraq's" of the world (of which America will be one)? There will be no humanitarian efforts. There will be no avoidance of civilian casualities. There will be no decapitation strikes. There will ONLY be total war.

Then "They (shall) cry peace, peace, but there is (will be) no peace." Jeremiah 6:14

What the American haters desire is not far off.

The man who wrapped his barn in a yellow ribbon after a local mayor stated no yellow ribbons on public property had it right when he said, "God bless America is a popular statement around here. People need to wake up, God has already blessed America. What we need to do now is not [tick] him off."

We have been [ticking] God off a lot over the last 40 plus years.

"For the three men I admired most, the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost, they took the last train for the coast, the day the music died."

It is getting hard to hear the music (worship) over the racket of hatred. When it's gone the hatred it gonna get a lot louder.

Dear Bruce,

"integrity"

Do you really think that links with big Oil and Enron are signs of "integrity" ?

Posted by: Frenchman at March 31, 2003 08:31 AM

Dear Bruce,

Five companies were invited by the US agency for international development (USAid) to bid for a $600m (£381m) contract to rebuild Iraq's basic infrastructure.

Only US companies were invited to bid, to the fury of British industrialists and unions, who pointed out that British troops are fighting alongside American soldiers.

The five companies also had close ties to the Bush administration, sparking accusations that the White House was returning favours for generous political campaign contributions.

Allegations of unduly cozy ties between the Bush administration and corporate benefactors has dogged the White House, going back to the scandal over Enron, the failed energy company.

Frenchman, if what you say it true...

Why should the US offer contracts (the cost of which will be borne by US taxpayers) to companies in another country? Here's a simple solution.

Let the British government shoulder the cost of a $600 million dollar rebuilding program of their OWN and offer it to THEIR own companies.

Get real. Do you imagine for one second that if the Brits were paying for a project, they'd give the contract to another country?

Posted by: AHA at March 31, 2003 09:17 AM

Frenchtry,

Has it ever occurred to you that Contracts have Sub-Contracts? Or do you not understand how free enterprise works?

We, Americans, are continually appalled by how the Left seems to create this implication that only the Bush Administration has ever done anything with ulterior motives or in the interest of "enterprise" or "partisan politics".

If it's self serving economic gain, power, and politics you are really worried about, and makeing all these conspiracy allegations... why aren't you and the French hanging your head in shame? "The pot calling the kettle black"

Didn't it seep through in the States that Abdullah Ibn Degaulli As-shiraqui (alias Chirac) has only been devoting all this energy to get re-elected last year because once he is out of office the judges will just pounce on him like so many vultures. Corruption charges will rain on him like the locusts of old.

I grant you that if France was (stuff the "were" up your *** Frenchie!) a democracy and not a banana republic he would
1. never have got elected in the first place
2. have been indicted in case he had cleared that first hurdle.

He is up to his ears in corruption deals. That Frenchie buzzing around your ears is just trying to draw your attention away from it.

Bruce

If I recall correctly, back in the day when public education meant that you were taught information to learn and influence your thinking- not just to feel better about yourself- the PAX ROMANA only came about AFTER the Roman Empire had defeated all of its neighbors. After defeating the ëknown worldí they still maintained a large army that was responsible for building roads, aqueducts, etc. It is infantile, ridiculous and counter to human nature to believe that everyone will be nice to each other and not take advantage of othersí weaknesses. Look at world historyÖ appeasing tyrants only makes them think there is weakness- and bullyís always manipulate weakness!!!

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said ëvisualize world peaceí- and I did for .832 secondsÖ during that time of visualization- leaders of numerous countries came to my mind (saddam Hussein, kim il jong, etc) who murder, manipulate and subjugate their ëowní people- build monuments and mansions for themselves while their citizenry starve to death.. ya- visualization works for athletes (I know I coach)- but guess what lefties- at some point you must do something!!! Life isnít a spectator sport- at some point you must utilize some energy and do some work-yes, it makes you tired, isnít easy and does cause some discomfort- but when you are finished you can see the fruit of your labor. I can visualize going to my job- but my ëbossí isnít going to be happy when nothing gets done!!! At this time the President of the United States has deemed it necessary to remove a threat to EVERY American and with a special ëbonusí- liberate 24+ million people.

So keep on visualizing lefties- maybe that is why you failed out of college and went into entertainment- so you didnít have to deal with reality and you can surround yourself with people who only want to appease youÖ because they themselves have no marketable skills but they are looking for their 15 minutes of fame!!!!

Posted by: hrdlordi at March 31, 2003 03:48 PM

My wife and her dad both work for a big oil company... I have good friends who were laid off from both Enron and Arthur Andersen... one cousin who still works for Enron. Several of my customers are oil and gas companies.

You see it's hard to live in Texas and not have links with "Big Oil." What does that prove? Just because a supposed link is there doesn't prove a lack of integrity. On the contrary, when The President's "friends" in Enron went to him for a bailout he gave them a big goose-egg he let them fail rather than tarnish the Oval Office... does that sound like a man who would start a war for "some of his closest friends?"

To answer your question, links to Enron and "Big Oil" has nothing to do with integrity. Integrity means you do what's right no matter what the cost. If you think integrity means no ties to large companies, you are going to be looking hard to find people qualified to run any nation.

When the Iraqi people are fully in control of the Iraqi oil supply, world oil prices will plummet... Bush's "friends" would do better without the Iraqi oil on the world market because their oil would be worth more. You remember high school economics? Supply and Demand? There may be a short term benefit to the higher oil prices right now, but when this war is over, I expect another oil bust. That will deeply hurt Bush's "oil buddies" but will be great for the rest of the country.

The Democrats make allegations because ever since Watergate they know that scandal is the only way they can win the White House. They sure can't do it on common sense. That is the only reason there are all these allegations. They have little to nothing to do with the truth. Fortunately most Americans can see through that ruse and false scandals never take hold.

I used to work for Borden's and I have another cousin who works for Dreyer's. I also own property near Brenham, TX. Does that mean I can't run for President because I have ties to "Big Ice Cream?"

With friends like that, who needs Democrats?

Posted by: Bruce at March 31, 2003 03:53 PM

Hrdlordi...

Actually that's my point. That is one of the reasons I'm behind President Bush... he is working on building a PAX AMERICANA. The UN sure doesn't have the courage to do it.

Oh.. and Frogeater... that last post was for you. :)

What percent of our elected officials in the House and Senate are millionaires??? Either they got there money from daddy or they were a lawyer of CEO of some Fortune 500 companyÖ. You arenít going to stand a chance getting elected if you are junior- the ëgrill boyí at the local MickeyDís.

I never understood how the democrats were such strong proponents of entitlements and hand outsÖ. Why doesnít Teddy K donate some of his money to some public schools in MA??? Heck- they could even name the school after him, their mascot could be the drunken buffoons!!

Why do the democrats always think that throwing money at different areas will improve performance- if I am doing a lousy job and I get a raise- why would I work harder- you have rewarded me for doing a mediocre job!!! You must instill responsibility and integrity into people and hold them accountable for their behaviorsÖÖ. Like Bush is removing Saddam from power- none of the other Arab nations would do it!!!

Old Man Joe Kennedy, (like The Godfather), didn't want, 'The Boys', running Rum, like him. He wanted them to have a clean start! To bad he couldn't see what scum they would become. If people thing JFK was an angel, they are sadly mistaken. Granted JFK was a war hero, but does anyone think there were NOT his type of hero stories that were never heard of? Believe me, (Oh Lord, now I sound like Frenchfry), there were and are a lot of things, you will never hear about, JFK, and RFK. Take a look at Teddy, do you really think they wouldn't be pretty close to him in beliefs today?

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" always did sound kinda leftist to me... if not down right Animal Farmish, or like it came out of a Marksist play book.

You don't need integrity to be elected President, Bill Clinton and Chiraq prove that. Even Adolf Hitler was elected.

But you need integrity to be a GOOD President.

Are you saying you are without integrity? Then why should anyone believe you have the interests of others at heart?

Only men of integrity should be trusted. Noone's perfect, but anyone who ridicules integrity or makes no effort toward integrity must not be trusted.

You need to get it - we don't CARE if you don't like us, think we're ignorant, don't agree with our reasons for going to war, or think we're being manipulated.

All you need to know is that we're also BIG, we're also POWERFUL and now we're also PISSED.

It's simple: you just don't care or hate everybody that does not agree with you.
That's also Bush's version of democracy.

Posted by: frogwatch at April 3, 2003 10:21 AM

Oh, I voted for Bush to stay _govenor_. I didn't think it fair to the country to let him wander outside of TX on his own. (No, I don't consider him very intelligent. But I'm relieved to see that at least he's smart enough to pick people who know what they're doing.)

Still. He _is_ the President of the only Superpower left in the world, and deserves that much respect, leaving aside the fact he has the personal honor to follow through on his word.

Oh, and the US has been proven right. Very first missile launches by Iraq were with illegal missiles, and (was it the missiles? I don't remember) it's proven they had Russian-made _contraband_, so designated by the _UN_ after Gulf War I. Get the story straight. Besides, we're supposed to care what other countries think? We're not the ones who voted for something, and then refused to follow through on it, like France and Germany did. And if France had kept from pressuring Turkey as they did, this war would already be _OVER_, like as not. So France is guilty for how many more deaths, American _and_ Iraqi, that will be caused by the lack of sufficient troops to have finished this off sooner? At least we aren't supporting a sadistic monster who has his people fire on CHILDREN, who lets his forces use the wives and children of those who aren't part of his political/religious group for SHIELDS. At least we aren't using religious shrines of deep cultural/religious importance, or HOSPITALS as places to stage attacks from, knowing the other side wants nothing to do with destroying them. At least we're feeding our TROOPS, instead of sending them on suicide missions, and not feeding them for two days, as was done to at least two of the feehadyin(sp?). At least we've not purposely cut off an entire town's _WATER SUPPLY_, after using them as civilian "backup" with a no-reason execution to show what would happen if they didn't comply.

Unlike Certain People, I've been watching the war; mother (one of the posters here) keeps it on CNN or Fox nearly non-stop. The live video feed is pretty bloody hard to "fix". I've _seen_ the coalition forces being fired on by people in civies, _seen_ them taking fire and not returning, because there were Iraqi cits being used as shields, _seen_ the hospitals that were converted to temporary HQs complete with torture equipment. Any government that is so callous as to permit that needs to not exist.

I personally could care less if he's got WMDs or not. I don't care if he's violated the sanctions or not. His people are suffering, he is not. We gave him a chance to seek asylum elsewhere. He chose to put his people in this war, by not doing what was best for _them_. His m.o. has never changed, and the "Arab world" said, what, 12 years ago now?, that it would take care of Saddam. One of life's lessons: if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. And that's what's being done now.

Posted by: Jessamine at April 3, 2003 10:48 AM

Jessamine.

I agree with you on most of your above comment (yes it's true even though I am French).

but:

1)You say that you gave Saddam a chance to seek asylium elsewhere. Ok but again this was an unilateral ultimatum from Bush. Maybe you could have gained legitimacy by convincing the UN to vote a resolution on this. France would probably have agreed to this.
The truth is Bush didn't care because the invasion of Irak was decided years ago.

2)about the illegal missiles used by Saddam:
The Irakis started to destroy these missiles before the war and they can bearly reach Koweit anyway. Also, the US is using cluster bombs wich are illegal weapons and just today 30 civilians have been killed by one of those bombs.
It seems to me that with this war it's the civilians that are suffering more than Saddam.

Posted by: AHA at April 3, 2003 12:21 PM

Interesting the way you and your like keep mentioning civilian casualties caused by Americans.

Did you have any criticism directed at Saddam and his thugs about the ONE-MILLION plus Iraqis that Saddam has killed, apparently just "because"? Did you criticize all the Iranian civilian casualties, the Kuwaiti civilian casualties, Kurdish civilian casualties?

TEN THOUSAND civilian casualties in this war would be less than that. Are you suggesting Saddam be left alone to continue his genocide? In the years that Saddam ignored the UN resolutions, do you have ANY idea how many children (about 80,000 per year, according to Human Rights Watch) died from starvation alone! This doesn't even take into account the lack of medical care, occasional killing campaigns by his henchmen and disappearances. This, while your hero was living in the lap of luxury, building 50 new palaces and funding WMD.

You're pathetic, immoral and worse, your criticism of the US is transparent.

(Describing French foreign policy) "Tricks and treachery are the practice of fools, they don't have brains enough to be honest." ~Ben Franklin~

Posted by: AHA at April 3, 2003 01:01 PM

Saddam was responsible but people also died in Irak because of the Embargo.

You are living in a fantasy world.
What do you suggest?
That the Arab countries should live in democracy and with Occidental moral values ?
It would not work. Because Democracy means free elections and what would free elections mean in Arab countries: Islamic governments.
Islamic governments do not share Occidental values and are not frendly with the US.
Democracy is a political system wich can only work with reasonable people not fanatics.

If the US cares so much about the poor Iraki people, why were they so friendly with Saddam before the 1991 Gulf war? Why did you supply the helicopters that were used to gas the kurds?

I don't know if my criticism is transparent but I can sure see through what Bush is saying.

Should I write my name at the bottom when it is also on the bottom automatically? I don't know what is proper.

Iraqis died during the embargo because Saddam STOLE the food and medicine money to pay for over 50 new palaces in just 12 yrs (cost so astronomical it hasn't yet been calculated) and weapons programs. Those Iraqi civilian deaths were Saddam's fault. And don't blame the US for the sanctions/embargo if you think that was unfair - that was put in place and managed by the UN who still have billions of Iraqi money in escrow. That's a specious argument and whether or not we were friendly to Saddam is irrelevant.

The example that will be set by installing a moderate gov in Iraq is that if you turn into a fanatic, the US will come and eliminate you/your government because we have discovered that fanatic governments and those that oppress their people breed terrorists. Just why do you think the nations of the world - especially those headed by dictators/despots/two-faced are so NERVOUS lately?

I don't really CARE what Bush's "true" message is or what his "secret" reasons are for the war on terrorism, this Iraqi war and the Afghan war. Whatever the motivation, the end result is that he is
A - beginning to drain the "swamp" of Islamic fanaticism, B - the Iraqis and Afghans get rid of gang of monsters who systematically tortured & starved them (a la Hitler), and C - the fanatic community across the world have lost much of their money and means to conduct their terrorist activities.

One thing I have noticed about the Arabs - their societies are primitive enough that they only respect a fearsome entity. Now they can FEAR/respect the US which translates into second thoughts about pursuing terrorism against us. If the Arab Street thinks the US is cruel etc... all the better. They have to wrap their brains around the new notion that they can't allow their fanatics to act with impunity against US. Better still, their governments will have to keep a clamp on them if they don't want us to blame them!

QUESTION: Do you think, because we might have been friendly pre-1991 with Saddam, for whatever reason, we are then obligated to leave him alone to continue a regime of atrocities? (Please see indict.org) If that were the case, then we would have been obligated to leave the Nazis alone while they practiced their atrocities. The US was friendly with Germany before WWII and England tried to remain friendly with Hitler before they got into WWII. Do you suppose Hitler should have been left to operate with impunity? Why should Saddam now be given consideration not afforded his predecessor, Hitler? Because he's from an Islamic nation?

~source unknown~ "A friend of mine is an officer in the naval reserve. A few weeks ago, he was attending a conference that included admirals in both the US and the French Navies. At a cocktail reception, my friend found himself in a small group that included an admiral from each of the two Navies. The French admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans learned many languages, Americans only learned English. He then asked. "Why is it that we have to speak English in these conferences rather than you have to speak French?" Without even hesitating, the American admiral replied. "Maybe it is because we arranged it so that you did not have to learn to speak German." The group became silent."

Aha
you didn't answer about using soap.
We can say "the war is immorel" in english because the people fighting the illegel, immorel war speak english.
Bush is having this war to make money for Dick Cheney, Big Oil, and the Airlines. That is why the firat thing we did in Iraq was take over the airport.

Posted by: Bambi Stokes-Hymington at April 4, 2003 09:08 AM

Bambi - you are neither clever nor amusing nor a talented satirist

A) To my knowledge, I have never commented the personal hygiene habits of the French (check your records please as I always acknowledge mistakes).

B) The correct spelling is immoral
The correct spelling is illegal
(When you can spell the issue, I will discuss the issue.)

C) See paragraph #3 above

D) We have been fighting for 2 weeks + 1 or 2 days. The takeover of Baghdad airport occurred yesterday. What is YOUR definition of "first"? Do you use the same dictionary as the UN e.g. "immediate"?
(If you are speaking of H1, H2 & H3 - that was to prevent missiles from being used out of the Iraqi scud-boxes in the western Iraqi desert to attack other Gulf nations. Yes, MORE heroics from US led Coalition troops.)

Anything else?

Posted by: AHA at April 4, 2003 09:37 AM

Correct spelling is not illegal or immorel. It's just correct. You shouldn't be anti spelling.

Iraq is not a swamp. It is a desert with oil and airports.

It sounds like you are for the war but against spelling and geography! Bill told me most pro war people are high school drop outs and easy to argue with!

Posted by: Bambi Stokes-Hymington at April 4, 2003 09:51 AM

Bambi,

can you spell "analogy"?

Posted by: AHA at April 4, 2003 09:54 AM

Yes, and guess what? Bill told me you pro war people would be anal too.
I saw what you wrote before and I know you enjoy gun violence. This is why you are pro war.

You people don't fool me by talking code.
I am not funny because war is not funny.
And I don't hide behind a code name.
"Vee Are War Crazy!"
Bill also said to watch for when you all would stop talking about the war and attack me. This is how I would know I was whinning.

Bambee,
you've been taking prozac with MAO-Inhibitors again, haven't you? You know your doctors told you you cannot mix those two psychotropic meds.

"please, please believe!"

you need to go check yourself back in to psych-ward. Don't worry, they know you well and will get your meds straightened out.

Hey V, ignore this cretin. He/she is only running around making provocative statements that are deliberately ignorant in order to stir the pot and then sit back and watch the feathers fly. He/she is not interested in any sort of meaningful dialogue.

Posted by: AHA at April 4, 2003 11:29 AM

AHA, so if we ignore her(?) will she(?) go away?

Well, we can hope. I will take your sage advice.

Posted by: vrwc at April 4, 2003 11:53 AM

No, probably not. It requires a superior facility of common sense (something Bambi is lacking) to determine when one has failed to effect the reaction one desires. I recommend you shoo the offender away, decline to allow he/she to engage you in discussion of its spurious posts and move on to greener pastures.

Bambi,
The vet just called, you've missed your distemper shots again and you probably have worms.

All;

The Iraqis are dancing in the streets. The Iraqi government is missing. The Fedayeen (Saddam's SS) are gone. Gone. I just saw a US soldier walking through a crowd of dancing Baghdad citizens as people threw him flowers and kissed him.

I am ashamed.
I am ashamed that when I served in Desert Storm, I did not finish the job.
I am ashamed that I retired three years too soon to serve with such brave, professional, true soldiers.
I am ashamed that I can never do enough to pay them back for their sacrifices.
I am ashamed when I walk past their families, knowing I am warm and safe with my family because they serve.
Anb I am ashamed that our culture has allowed the vulgar, evil actors and SAC people to believe that they, and not our soldiers, are the experts.

I was there, in Basrah, in 1991. I saw the Iraqi people and I know the Iraqi people. I gave them what I could and it was never enough, because after I promised them, with all my heart, that they were safe with me, I left.

Now I watch the Iraqi people celebrate and I cry tears of joy and sadness and I wish I could have been there. And I will always know how truly wrong Michael Moore and his evil cronies are.

To all Military Members and their families reading this: Thank you all and God Bless you.
I'm sorry I didn't do enough when I could. But this generation serving, and those behind them, give me hope for a truly great nation and a truly great future.

As for the evil protesters damning the Marines and their families: They will always be with us. I was threatened in my time and my family suffered the same insults. Those protesters will grow up, but they will never develop one tenth of the moral character of one Marine.

Oh, one more bit of info regarding the US supposedly supplying Saddam with weapons:

a.) Despite Michale Moore's 'Bowling for Columbine' lies, Saddam invaded Kuwait using weapons supplied by Germany, France, South Africa, Brazil, Syria, Jordan, China and the Soviet Union. This fact is apparently lost on fans of the film, where the statement regarding US weapons in the Kuwait invasion is overlaid on a film showing Soviet BMP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicles.
The Iraqi tactical communications equipment is overhwelmingly French, with a few pieces of Russian gear.
The Tank sights are German, as is all of their Chemical Protective equipment.
Their current crop of anti-tank equipment is French.
The Iraqi tactical vehicles are mostly Russian. And contrary to popular opinion: The T-72, in the right hands, is an excellent tank.

a.) The helicopters used by Saddam's army to gas the kurds were:
a. French Gazelles
b. German BO-105s and
c. Soviet Mi-26s and MI-8s

c.) The weapons Saddam used from US manufacturers were:
a. M-577 command post vehicles (unarmed)
b. M-220 Anti-tank missile systems (TOWs) which were not very effective, due to mishandling and poor storage.

d.) The Iraqi anti-tank weapon of choice in the first Gulf war was (and remains) the Russian or chinese RPG-7. The main long-range anti-tank weapon is either the Russian AT-6 Kornet or the French Milan. Both of which have proven effective against M-1 Tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

Thanks France. Thanks Russia. I'll bet you're sweating a bit over what we're going to find in those government archives.

And THAT's the truth. Finally.

OK, but let's spare Mohammed Said Sahhaf (or whatever his name is), the Iraqi
minister of information. I mean, he's got an amazing vision of an alternative
reality right here in our own universe. The guy has got to be smarter than he
lets on. He's a natural for a guest stint on Saturday Night Live. And he could
even be a natural for his own late-night talk show opposite, say, Leno or
Letterman. If he hasn't committed any war crimes, we need to get this guy signed
ASAP.

The following advice for American travellers going to France was
compiled from information provided by the US State Department, the CIA,
the US Chamber of Commerce, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centres
for Disease Control and some very expensive spy satellites that the French
don't know about. It is intended as a guide for American travellers only.

General Overview
France is a medium-sized foreign country situated in the continent of
Europe. It is an important member of the world community, though not
nearly as important as it thinks. It is bounded by Germany, Spain,
Switzerland and some smaller nations of no particular importance and with not very
good shopping. France is a very old country with many treasures, such as the
Louvre and EuroDisney. Among its contributions to western civilization
are champagne, Camembert cheese and the guillotine. Although France likes to
think of itself as a modern nation, air conditioning is little used and it is
next to impossible for Americans to get decent Mexican food. One continuing
exasperation for American visitors is that local people insist on
speaking in French, though many will speak English if shouted at. Watch
your money at all times. France has a population of 56 million people.
52million of these drink and smoke (the other 4 million are small children).
All French people drive like lunatics, are dangerously oversexed, and have no concept
of standing patiently in a queue. The French people are in general gloomy,
temperamental, proud, arrogant, aloof and undisciplined; those are their
good points. Most French citizens are Roman Catholic, though you would
hardly guess it from their behaviour. Many people are communists. Men
sometimes have girls' names like Marie or Michel, and they kiss each
other when they meet. American travellers are advised to travel in groups
and wear baseball caps and colorful trousers for easier recognition.

Safety:
In general, France is a safe destination even though it's almost third
world in its sanitation (urinating in the street is an art form), although
travelers must be aware that from time to time it is invaded by Germany.
Traditionally, the French surrender immediately and, apart from a
temporary shortage of Scotch whisky and increased difficulty in getting
baseball scores, first run movies, and stock market prices, life for the American
visitor generally goes on much as before. A tunnel connecting France to
Britain beneath the English channel has been opened in recent years to
make it easier for the French government to flee to London during future
German invasions.

History:
French historical figures are Louis XIV, the Huguenots, Joan of Arc,
Jacques Cousteau, Marcel Marceau, Asterix the Gaulle and Charles de Gaulle
(not related) who was President for many years and is now an airport.

Government:
The French form of government is democratic but noisy. Elections are
held more or less continuously and always result in a draw. The French
love administration so for government purposes the country is divided into
regions, departments, districts, municipalities, towns, communes,
villages, cafes, and telephone kiosks. Each of these has its own
government and elections. Parliament consists of two chambers, the Upper and Lower,
though confusingly they are both on the ground floor, and whose members
are either Gaullists or Communists, neither of whom should be trusted by the
traveler. Parliament's principal occupation is setting off atomic bombs in
the south Pacific and acting indignant, saying yes to all demands internal and
no to all requests external, and acting surprised when other countries
complain. According to the most current American state department
intelligence, the President is now someone named Jacques. Further information is not
available at this time.

Culture:
The French pride themselves on their culture, though it is not easy to
see why. All their music sounds the same and they have never made a movie
that you would want to watch for anything but the nude scenes. The female
part of the population do have an aversion to the removal of body hair
(particularly the under arm variety) which may appeal to the more bestial
males, attempts to comb the afore mentioned have proved to be fruitless.

Cuisine:
Let's face it, no matter how much garlic you put on it, a snail is just
a slug with a shell on its back. Legless Frogs in wheelchairs are a common
sight due to the national appetite for that particular amphibian limb.
Croissants on the other hand, are excellent, although it is impossible
for most Americans to pronounce this word. In general, travelers are
advised to stick to cheeseburgers.

Economy:
France has a large and diversified economy, second only to Germany's in
Europe, which is surprising because the French hardly work at all. If
they are not spending four hours dawdling over lunch, they are on strike
and blocking the roads with their trucks and tractors. France's principal
exports, in order of importance to the economy, are wine, nuclear
weapons technology, champagne, see through fashions, miscellaneous
armaments: guns, guided missiles, launchers, land mines, tanks, attack aircraft,
perfume, cheese and pictures of extremely hairy women in berets.

Public Holidays:
France has more holidays than any other nation in the world. Among its
361 national holidays are: 197 Saints' days, 37 National Liberation Days,
16 Declaration of Republic Days, 54 Return of Charles de Gaulle in triumph
as if he won the war single-handed Days, 18 Napoleon sent into Exile
Days,16 Napoleon Called Back from Exile Days, 1 celebration of French
Humour, and 2 "France is Great and the Rest of the World is Rubbish" -Days.

Conclusion:
France enjoys a rich history, a picturesque and varied landscape, and a
temperate climate. In short, it would be a very nice country if it was
not inhabited by French people. The best thing that can be said for France
is that it is not Germany... Well at least it isn't until the next time they decide to invade.
