Thanks Ott for this one...I's nice to know the old things of life sometimes stay the same. You just have to get a Kick out of old Gephardt, just when the Liberals sound all alike, here comes Gephardt, he is such a....."weasel." Posted by: an old old lady at March 10, 2003 05:37 PMhis campaign is nowhere. just look at the number of comments. two. how pathetic. Posted by: tom at March 10, 2003 08:04 PMWho actually originated the "weasel"? Is this an invention of the Democratic Party and adopted by the French, Germans and Russians, or was it the other way around? I wondering if it is not endemic to the leftist\progressive\socialist mindset. Any help on this would be appreciated. Posted by: Cowboy at March 10, 2003 11:29 PMPreviously, Rep. Gephardt said it was wrong to fly the Confederate flag "anytime, anywhere." Yesterday, he said, "My position is clear: I think it's inappropriate to fly the Confederate flag in public places," but that people are "free to do whatever they want in private property." People are also free to do certain things on public property... like carry flags or wear shirts with flag designs on them. It might not be socially "appropriate" (I would never wear the Confederate battle flag), but he should recognize that people have the right to do so on public property. For a Democrat, who would probably nationalize things left and right (if he had his way), he seems to have a pretty limited view of public freedoms. Posted by: Michael Levy at March 10, 2003 11:50 PMAs Mark Twain put it, if you don't like Dick Gephardt's opinion, wait a minute. Posted by: Christopher Johnson at March 11, 2003 09:07 PMHe's almost against it, but he's totally against it! All the liberal that follow him won't see the contradiction. Hehehehe... Posted by: Paul C. Tindall at March 13, 2003 02:31 PMGephardt went on to say that even though he strongly opposes the display of the Confederate flag in public, every American has the right according to the Constitutional clause of Freedom of Speach to burn the American Flag in public.
