Coalition Hires British Paper to Dig for Evidence
(2003-04-27) -- The U.S. and British military intelligence services, overworked and understaffed, have contracted with British newspapers to dig through Iraqi government buildings in search of a link between al Qaeda and the regime of Saddam Hussein. Posted by: Bambi Stokes-Hymington at April 27, 2003 12:47 PM Perhaps unaware of the existence of paper shredders, and ignorant of the power of fire (a western invention unknown in the Fertile Crescent), and lacking the box cutters needed to cut out bin Laden's name from the documents (the entire strategic stockpile of box cutters having been expended in 2001) those crafty Iraqis took their method from Poe's "The Purloined Letter" - leave the document out in the open, on top of a table somehow unaffected by the conflagration. Man they're good. Posted by: Bruce Webb at April 27, 2003 01:00 PMI'll bet they wil find Hillary's billing records from the Rose Law Firm there. Posted by: Mikey at April 27, 2003 02:07 PMAl-Qaeda and Saddam Gee yah think..Surprize.. Surprize And you what they did ...
France gave Saddam Hussein's regime regular reports on its dealings with American officials, Paris shared with Baghdad contents of private trans-Atlantic meetings and diplomatic traffic from Washington. One document, dated Sept. 25, 2001, from Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri to Saddam, was based on a briefing that covered talks between presidents Jacques Chirac and George W. Bush. You know what I am not going to post any comment, But where are the page 3 girls. I want to see a little eyebrow!!! Posted by: Unsatisfied at April 27, 2003 03:08 PMI am so angry at you Americans Pig-Dogs! The goats in the Baghdad Zoo are STARVING! First the treasues of the cradle of humanity were looted and now precious animals are suffering!! How dare you remove Saddam Hussein from power, now look what happens! Poor defenseless lions, tigers and bears have been orphaned at the zoo! What did they ever do to you? Have you by chance confused British Newspapers with British Comedy Publications? :) Jonah Posted by: Jonah8208 at April 27, 2003 03:24 PMHi Kieth "Makes sense to me. If there's one thing British tabloids know inside and out, it's digging up scandals" The newspaper is the Telegraph which is the UK equivalent of the WSJ. It is not a Tabloid but it is good at digging up scandals that matter. Old British Joke- Times readers run the country. Jonah Posted by: Jonah8208 at April 27, 2003 03:29 PMAs the truth about france's overt aiding of Saddam Hussein's muderous regime is exposed, I wonder what the spokesliars like chiraq and my buddy french fry are going to attack in yet another pathetic attempt to divert attention from the real subject of how despicable france has become. These recent treacherous actions are merely a mirror of the actions taken by the bootlicking vichy french turncoats during WWII. Makes you wonder who else chiraq is on his knees for? North Korea? China? Iran? It looks like france is givng germany and russia a run for their money for the title of most despised european country of all time. It's a shame to see a once mighty republic turn into such a pretentious piece of cow flop. I am truly sorry for the poor french who have any perception at all of the truth. The actions of their double-dealing government and officials is going to cost them dearly as well. Remember to Boycott france! You do know I was kidding about the "once mighty republic" thing, right? Posted by: Okie Dokie at April 27, 2003 04:24 PMWell, I knew there was a desire to privatize a lot of government functions and at first I was upset that the were contracted to the British media, The Daily Telegraph and The London Times, instead of a U.S. outfit. However, any U.S. firm that you could trust was just to small to cover the job. OSAMA BIN LADEN, {Wise guy satire comments and interruptions by me..go with me on this one} Audiotape February 11, 2003, We follow with great attention and a lot of scrutiny, the preparations that the crusaders are doing to occupy the capital of Islam... We remind you that victory comes only from God Almighty. God Almighty said, if you support God, he will support you and make you victorious American forces did not dare to go into our posts in Afghanistan. What sign is more than that for their coward ness and their fear in their claimed stories about their power? God doesn't approve of the oppressors. Muslims that they have to move and instigate the nation in these serious times and hard circumstances so that they would move and get rid of the oppressive and infidel regimes that are in power, It "America" depends on intensive air bombing and, that is to hide its (Americas) biggest weakness point which is fear, coward ness, and the lack of the fighting spirit within the American soldiers. Now, I am going to tell you a part of that great battle so that I prove to you how coward they are on one hand, and how good are the trenches in the draining (American assets) them, on the other hand We fought back against all their attacks by the grace of God. And we defeated them every time. They were carrying their injured and their dead. Video Tape December 13, 2001 I witness that against the sharp blade They always faced difficulties and stood together... When the darkness comes upon us We are bit by a Sharp tooth, I say...Our homes are flooded with blood and the tyrant Who Is freely wandering in our homes"... And from the battlefield vanished The brightness of swords and the horses... They are storming his forts And shouting: "We will not stop our raids Until you free our lands... Osama Bin Laden A million innocent children are dying (In Iraq ) at this time as we speak, We hear no denunciation,(from America) we hear no edict from the hereditary rulers. We keep hearing these hints about other people being bought off in these revealing papers, particularily some in the US as government types or reporters. One would think right off that a "government type" might be Baghdad Bonior or some other congressman, but then the English press would jump hard and fast to condemn a US congressman even before an English MP. So it leads me to think that the US person(s) mentioned might be a bit more powerful that a mere congressman. Might it be one of a higher office? Perhaps one who "blew" a chance to capture Osama? Just thinking out loud... Don't mind me. Posted by: BigbadJim at April 27, 2003 07:54 PMMighty Right of Ya: You weren't too shocked by this story about france were you? I know it doesn't surprise me, that's why they didn't want us in there. Okie Dokie: Am going to have to change my feelings on boycotting french products. Now what I want is paris to be nuclear ground zero. Bambi Bambi: Dear Bambi, You are not drinking White Out (TM), ARE YOU? Posted by: Susan Serin-Done at April 27, 2003 09:04 PMSUSAN SERIN-dippity--oops' "done" NOPE...not surprised. I should have added that to the post. For France its like one of those nightmares that your out in public with no clothes...for them its far from "the dream world". Next we will be hearing that Monte Python is reuniting to conduct the war criminal trials. Posted by: wizegoi at April 27, 2003 10:42 PM"THIS JUST IN"..... Monty Python will be reuniting to conduct the war criminal trials---check your local listings for dates and times and stay tuned with the FOX channel. TO BETTER UNDERSTAND FRANCE AND CHIRAC, PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE BY "A F P", BY CLICKING INTO MY NAME. Posted by: PATRICE at April 28, 2003 04:48 AMPATRICE: I think I found a mistake in your article. I think it should have said: "The right-wing daily quoted a letter from the Iraqi secret service dated March 28 saying that "one of our sources" had met the deputy spokesman for the French foreign ministry "with whom he had just had relations."... Posted by: Cassandra at April 28, 2003 02:29 PMActually, I think this is a great strategy. Half the world won't believe what the U.S. government says and, by extension, what the British government says, and will be skeptical of the U.S. press, so let the British press find the stuff and print it first and then the gov't can just confirm it or not. Either that or the British press has alot more connections in the intelligence services than the U.S. press. Posted by: twalsh at April 28, 2003 04:08 PMHey, somebody wake me up when we invade France, huh? RE: Claims amoung other things France briefed Iraq on war 1.Dated September 25, 2001, from Naji Sabri, the Iraqi foreign minister, to Saddam's palace, was based on a briefing from the French ambassador in Baghdad and covered talks between presidents Jacques Chirac and US President George W Bush. 2.The report also gave a detailed account of American attitudes towards Saddam amid anxiety in Iraq that the country might soon become a target of US reprisals. 3.The conservative British weekly said the information kept Saddam abreast of every development in US planning and may have helped him to prepare for war. 4.A six-page letter dated February 1998 from Saddam Hussein to Jacques Chirac, welcoming the French president's support in the campaign against sanctions and assuring him that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction. 5.the Sun newspaper notably labelling Chirac a "worm". 6.The Sunday Times reported, quoting files it had found in the wreckage of the Iraqi foreign ministry. AND NOW.. Allow me a moment of your time, to give an educated opinion as to the above 6 items 1.gee yah think it odd, the Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri, briefing the French ambassador in Baghdad 2.a giving a timely and detailed account of American attitudes towards Saddam 3.Saddam abreast of every development in US planning and may have helped him to prepare for war...oh yeah and The London Sunday Times has the "secrect" war plans france passed to saddam ..right Bull S**t.. Hey London Sunday Times, oh no they are talking about currant world events ..red alert stop the press hold all calls man get a f______g grip..no better yet wake me if you have a "real story" otherwise stop wasting my time ps I fell for this BS in the first few hours, please note I have ADHD and cant control rabid rage Posted by: jp at April 30, 2003 01:57 AMHas anyone else on this site heard about Dennis Kucinich's proposed Kumbaya Act? He and 46 other Democrat House Members (boy is "member" the proper designation for these guys) are proposing a cabinet level position, Secretary of Peace. I know that this sounds like I made it up, but I didn't. It's for real! They want a Secretary of Peace and an entire bureaucracy to maintain peace both in this country and abroad. The secretary would be in charge of making sure that we had no more violent demonstrations and that we never committed any more violent acts (like war) in any other country. When I read the news story, I thought that Scott had somehow sneaked his way into the mainstream press establishment and was pulling a fast one on them. You guys have got to check this out! Posted by: Joseph at April 30, 2003 10:57 AM...Secretary of Peace...why does this sound so familiar? Oh -- I remember now! This is just a reprise of an old Clinton program called the Secretaries for Piece Program. This daring initiative (funded with your federal tax dollars) was designed to ensure a dependable supply of nubile young Interns, Secretaries, and other Grope-able Females to fill necessary White House functions. The program was initially lauded by Democrats and White House staffers alike. Inexplicably, it was suddenly dropped just before the Clinton impeachment hearings... |
