Lott Turns to Pillar of Salt

(2002-12-19) -- U.S. Senator Trent Lott, R-Miss., during the seventh stop of his 27-city ApologiPalooza tour, shocked journalists by turning to a pillar of salt before their eyes.
An aide to the beleaguered, would-be majority leader said, "God had warned him never to look back to his segregationist past."
Senate colleagues, and Old Testament scholars, interviewed off the record expressed concern for Lott's wife.

ON the other hand, it seems both Biblical and poetic justice that just as Congresswoman Pelosi (D- Sodom and Gomorrah) takes over as House Minority Leader, former Senate Majority Leader Lott (R-Bible Belt) gets a taste of what God truly feels about him!
