Who's laughing now? Posted by: Toren at November 14, 2002 10:26 PMAre they going to be 'cheesed'! Posted by: Maarten Schenk at November 15, 2002 07:00 AMNote carefully: France did NOT cut off shipments of either Courvoisier or Remy Martin cognac, both favored by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Il. As always, the French are making a grand rhetorical gesture, and leaving the activity of maintaining peace in the world to the hyperpower (and then grousing about it!) Posted by: the talking dog at November 15, 2002 12:50 PMI think we can rest assured that the stink Chirac is raising isn't just hot air. A unilateral response from the US would light a match to an already volatile situation, that could backfire and cause severe internal damage to the European body politic.
