Poll: Journalists Support Iraq Invasion, Bush

(2002-10-08) -- American journalists overwhelmingly support a U.S. invasion of Iraq with, or without, United Nations cooperation. That's the finding of a new survey of newspaper, television, radio and internet journalists.

Almost 92 percent of journalists said they would back an invasion in answer to the question, "If George W. Bush, armed with nothing but a scimitar, were to personally lead ground troops in an invasion of Iraq, would you support the attack?"

The poll follows the NY Times-CBS-MSBNC poll earlier this week which found that Americans in general support invasion, as long as no one gets hurt.

Journalists in the new poll also reported being happy overall with the way the Bush administration has dealt with the economy. In fact 98 percent said, "I think Bush is doing terrific things with the economy."

The question was phrased like this:
"Choose one, and only one, of the following...
1) I'd like to meet Ann Coulter in a dark alley.
2) I think Bush is doing terrific things with the economy."
