(2002-09-24) — The much anticipated beta release of Gore 2.0 includes the same neo-human voice reproduction component, and runs on a platform which pre-dates the first Windows OS.
A developer who has tested Gore 2.0 said, “It’s uncanny to hear how well it reproduces the human voice — albeit a stilted, monotone one — but it almost sounds real.”
DNC, the marketer of Gore 2.0, ran a test before a live audience this week in California, in which the product simulated passion and concern about a variety of political issues. The reviews were stellar.
“I’m telling you, people came up to us afterward and said Gore never sounded so good,” according to a DNC spokesman. “The battle now will be to get former Gore 1.0 customers to upgrade to 2.0.”
DNC said the final release version will include the Clinton plug-in, because research shows that people have forgotten how bug prone it was.
