(2010-06-03) — President Barack Obama today in his first face-to-face meeting with Gov. Jan Brewer since the Arizona chief executive signed a law allowing police to enforce federal immigration legislation, insisted that “the U.S. needs illegal immigrants to do jobs others won’t do.”
Specifically, the president said he needs undocumented workers to fill a variety of federal posts which Democrat senate candidates have rejected in recent months.
Despite offers by top White House officials and even former President Bill Clinton, Mr. Obama said, politicians like Pennsylvania’s Joe Sestak and Colorado’s Andrew Romanoff refused to drop their senate aspirations in order to fill crucial government positions.
“These are the jobs that American Democrats aren’t willing to do,” the president reportedly told Gov. Brewer. “And if Democrat politicians feel this work is beneath them, where else can I turn but to America’s perennial source of cheap labor for lousy jobs?”
The president hopes to a broker a deal with the governor to continue the federal immigration agency’s ‘catch and release’ program, but to allow those released to step into top government roles “at least until a senate candidate can be persuaded to drop his bid to unseat a Democrat incumbent.”

They can say whatever they want but I respect Jan Brewer because she’s got the [courage] to get a handle on illegal immigration. This problem has gotten out of control!

Gov. Brewer is just doing the job that Napolitano-ObaMao-Holder won't do. Maybe the illegals can read the bill to them and stop misrepresenting what it says.

Okay. I sent out an all-call email to those who attended last time and to those who might want to come this time around. (Boberin, that even includes you!)
Same place. The weekend after Labor Day. If we arrive Thursday night and leave on Sunday, we should be able to pack in a lot of fun-filled activities…beyond the campfire chats.
I will need to know what you think soon, so that I can make cabin reservations. (We had fun sharing cabin space last time in spite of the snoring choruses.) Both the cabin and bath house facilities are great. If you would rather tent it, say so in an email. In fact, email any of your responses.
