(2010-03-29) — Facing the specter of another two years of Democrat stagnation in Congress, President Barack Obama reportedly plans to seize the momentum generated by the bipartisan opposition to his health care reform initiative in order to move boldly on reforming Wall Street, education, energy, employment and Little League Baseball…all at once.
“The president spent the last year overcoming resistance from his own party in Congress,” said senior White House adviser David Axelrod. “If he doesn’t launch an all out, multi-front war right now, these same people could be reelected. That’s a nightmare scenario.”
The new White House strategy consists of forcing Democrats to declare what they believe on a welter of issues that affect the daily lives of ordinary Americans.
“Normally, in an election year, members of Congress avoid controversy,” Mr. Axelrod said. “We have to smoke them out…get their views out in the sunlight where their constituents can see them.”
Tactically, the senior adviser said, the president will execute an “omnidirectional pivot” — essentially, moving “full steam ahead on all major policy fronts at once.”
The White House calendar calls for a five-month series of daily news conferences during which the president will announce that his agenda is “completely focused on one thing.” The following day, he’ll use the same words, but substitute a different issue.
Here’s a draft outline of the president’s daily news conference topics between now and election day.
Monday: greed, greed, greed
Tuesday: grads, grads, grads
Wednesday: carbon, carbon, carbon
Thursday: jobs, jobs, jobs
Friday: batter, batter, batter

"omnidirectional pivot" ??? Good one, Scott. Did the term come from the head ballerina, Rahm Emanuel, who would know what an axel is? Or did Axelrod claim the term because part of his name is buried inside it?
I have to take issue with Friday's agenda of "better, better, better" though. Fridays in the O- White House are traditionally set aside for the dump of bad news that the administration would prefer to stay buried.

My 8 year old nephew chased me with his Louisville Slugger. Said I didn't do enough to get McCain elected. I ran like a liberal sissy hippy. Got ice down below now, kid hits hard and knows the strike zone. I'm just glad it was not my 15 year old…..he is bigger than me!

It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.

Scrapple? Slice it (about ¼") and fry it; if you've got a deep fat fryer, so much the better.
It's (largely) corn meal…along with "scraps" of pig.

Heh! I saw on Drudge tonight that Obama wants to levy a European style BAT tax. Are we even allowed to sell European Style Bats in pet stores? I don't think so. How can illegal European Style Bats be taxed if they aren't even allowed in the US???? Huh? Oh. Not Bats, but Vats? Ohhhh. Well, now tell me, how many people do YOU know who buy European Style vats? I mean, who keeps cooking oil in vats anymore, anyway? Maybe McDonalds or Burger King, but that isn't going to be enough vats to tax and make money. That makes no sense. I've never even SEEN a European Style vat. What has it got on it - French?

The first two are easy; inspiration and focus seem like abstract concepts, though, when all I see and hear are ever-weaker reactions and nothing about action. Tea Parties aren't cutting it, in my opinion, except to make some folks feel warm and fuzzy for a few hours—heck, NASCAR can do that.
