Obama girls get H1N1 shot, but still exhaling CO2

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 19 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

After a week of national angst over Barack and Michelle Obama’s delayed vaccination of their daughters against the H1N1 virus, Americans let out a collective sigh of relief at news that the girls finally got the shot. However, an unnamed top White House official said today that the danger has not completely passed, because the girls continue to exhale climate-changing carbon dioxide.

The important question is whether the girls were covered under the public option, er consumer option or whatever the latest Lackoff weasel words were whispered into Nancy Peloisi's ear? If so, then they and all of America can breathe freely again and stop waiting with bated breath.

Is it true that the nearly 2000 page boondoggle presented by the Speaker with much fanfaire will turn the nation blue?

Obama's hot air is causing more global-warming than CO2 is.

  • 3 boberinyetagain // Oct 30, 2009 at 1:47 pm

OLA, didn't you tell me the other day that the girsl were not getting the shot?

So much for that source eh? Or is this a change of heart? Or, is it just a ruse…they didn't really get one?

This whole Inoculation-gate thing is, and has been, overblown, if you ask me. First, the leftists freaked out because the BHOs waited, now, the leftists freak out because they went to the front of the line.

The Whatever Option's premiums will be higher than private plans:

That estimate of enrollment reflects CBO's assessment that a public plan paying negotiated rates would attract a broad network of providers but would typically have premiums that are somewhat higher than the average premiums for the private plans in the exchanges.

    Gee. What a surprise.
    Not.

If the "public option" plan would have higher premiums, wouldn't that pretty much solve the issues that the Pubs have with it? Insurance companies would be ok and all would be well…wouldn't it?

As for the "thumbs down" you continue to dish out…you are the only one playing that game anymore but hey, whatever gets you through the day dude. Look, I'll give you a "thumbs up" just so you can feel superior.

From the "darned if you do/darned it you don't" file…first we hear the stimulus isn't working over and over…then the GDP goes way up and now we hear "duh, that's because of the stimulus"

Mind you, I was not/still aren't a fan of the bailout/stimulus but…Obama can't be in trouble for both things…either it is or isn't working, did or didn't raise the GDP eh?

The auto rebates and now the ongoing "home buyer" rebates…all a load of crap…who wouldn't want "free" money? When do I get mine? Said when this began, just send us all $10,000…we'll stimulate the heck out of the economy and add tons of cash to the banking system…and we'd all be slightly better off (for the short run, all this is now)…instead of just those that bought cars/homes…poor folks can't buy either…so they get left out again…as usual

    What a farce!

Don't know what you heard, or who you heard it from, but I don't believe the stimulus caused the GDP to go up (with the possible exception of auto sales). The GDP is going up because the recession is ending — mainly on its own. It was the longest and deepest recession since the Great Depression. It was bound to end soon anyway. You know, pent-up demand and all that.

And BTW, since about 15 million Americans (including myself) are unemployed at the moment, a rise in the GDP means diddley-squat (is that how you spell it?) as far as I'm concerned. (:I)

The so-called "stimulus" has accomplished nothing whatsoever. The economy is holding its own, in spite of the so-called "stimulus."

The so-called "stimulus" is more like an incubus.

Meanwhile, just in time for halloween, Mrs. BHO is busy sharing internal organs with local school children.

When I posted the point about the Obamao girls not getting the H1N1 flu shot the other day, that was their status at the time. Perhaps Mr. and Mrs. Obamao were sensitive to the public criticism about their decision that they changed their minds. After all, as Jim Geraghty has noted, Obamao's remarks/decisions do</i) have an expiration date, and the Adolescent-Narcissist-in-Chief is sensitive to internal polling.

The "public option" has many mandated services that citizens do not want nor need. Thus, the "public option" will be more costly that the type of insurance that many individuals choose (key word) to have carried in the first place; ditto for the coverage that businesses/corporations carried for their employees as part of the compensation package.

The "public option" forces the taxpayer to assume the burden of paying coverage for those who chose not to be covered because they preferred to spend their money elsewhere instead. The truly indigent are covered under Medicaid, and their children under the expanded SCHIP program.

(cont'd)The latest Pelosi boondoggle dumps more people into Medicaid, throwing the burden of payment onto the states. (Your federal and state taxes are going to rise dramatically- and you will have lesser care with more rationing of services.) Medicare is taking a huge haircut with this bill, too.

These assorted bills are loaded with political payback- to unions, especially. They undermine the health care industry and the insurance industry (who make 2-3% profit as opposed to trial lawyers who make 14% profit). They put the government and its decision-making between the patient and the doctor in a most intrusive, freedom and privacy-threatening way. They are unConstitutional-all of them.

A briefer bill could be written that allows for an employee to have job portability of coverage, limits on lawsuit settlements, health savings accounts, catastrophic coverage only, and the ability to purchase (shop around; ie, REAL choice) insurance that suits the needs of the consumer.

(Don't worry, boberin, I undo the thumbs down in each of your posts with a thumbs up since you are willing to engage in discussion (even though you still use Lefty talking points.

Did you know that the folks who bought cars under Cash4Clunkers have to claim the $4000 or $4500 as income. Now they are stuck with newer cars AND higher insurance. I wonder how long it will be before the repo man seizes these cars.

Folks are being very cautious with their expenditures right now because the status of the dollar and the economy is so insecure. Unfortunately as a result, businesses are cutting back, and they are very cautious about making long-range investments because they have no way of knowing how much further Obamao will punish them for their success.

The only jobs that the stimulus has created are government-bureaucracy pencil pusher jobs or temporary construction jobs. The "stimulus" has cost more jobs than it has created. (Hawkeye is just one object lesson of this fact of life.)

  • 16 onlineanalyst // Oct 30, 2009 at 11:03 pm

Here is another tidbit to chew on re the cynical nature of the health-care reform bill. It is one heckuva payoff for trial lawyers pursuing malpractice. Nancy Pelosi and her Dem enablers are beneficiaries of this scheme, and you can bet that health costs will rise. not lower with these assorted bills from Congress.

Obama may not mind risking his daughters' health with those shots, or maybe he really thinks it's a good idea…but I haven't gotten any kind of flu shot for years. Those things can make you sick!

  • 18 CallMeShelly // Nov 1, 2009 at 3:09 pm

My father got Parkinson's Diseases from the original Pig Flu shots back in the '70's and this round of shots proves to be just as dangerous as the first. How many saw the video of the gal who was in cheer leading training who became a neurological disaster from the flu shot. She can no longer walk forward but now must walk backwards everywhere she goes.

Nope, got enough problems already. BTW, did Micheal Moore get a Swine Flu Shot? How does a swine-heart react to a shot of such caliber??
