Obama Record Brings Call for ‘100 More Days’

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 34 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2009-04-25) — The latest Rasmussen poll shows that Americans feel so strongly about the job that President Barack Obama has done in his first 100 days that many of them would join a call for Mr. Obama have up to 100 more days in office.

The public cry to let the president serve for about three more months comes as a result of his record of campaign promises kept, including…
- Guantanamo Bay detention center shut down,
- American troops out of Iraq,
- Usama bin Laden virtually captured,
- Iran and North Korea disarming in the face of a U.S. charm offensive,
- the end of U.S. spying on Americans,
- ocean levels dropping and polar bears reproducing like rabbits,
- the greatest economic recovery since World War II, and
- a new civility in government that has Democrats reaching out to Republicans and forging bipartisan solutions for all of the people.

“People are impressed by Obama’s actions in the first 100 days,” said an unnamed Rasmussen spokesman. “If you add up the folks who want him to keep it up for another 25, 50 or 100 days, it’s nearly a majority.”

How much more money can he blow in another hundred days!

  • 2 gafisher // Apr 25, 2009 at 9:35 am

I think he blew it all in his first sally, J.R Re#1.

A triple-digit renewal seems a bit rash; it seems to me he favored single-digit extensions during the campaign.

As a loyal member of the opposition - I object to this proposal. Maybe we should search for some DNA from the founders and clone them, we could use a Thomas Jefferson right now. Be fascinating to hear him speak on the separation of church and state issue. Maybe someone should let Mr. naivety personified know that it is OK to quit, we wouldn’t even mind if he gave less than 24 hours notice.

    Nearly a majority.

Porter J. Goss — “Circuses are not new in Washington…..”

This circus has the distinction [among others] of being a suicidal Nero-playing-the-clarinet style bacchanal of epic proportions as performed by a pagan cabal upon the revolving stage known as Capitol Hill, once the bastion of Truth, Justice and The American Way, once the bedrock of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Was this poll taken in Central America, or the Middle East?

  • 7 Left Coast-Right Mind // Apr 25, 2009 at 12:42 pm

I really like the idea that President Obama’s days in office are numbered. Electing responsible Congressional members into the majority come 2010, whether they be Constitutionally-minded Republicans or ‘Blue Dog’ Democrats, would go a long way to making President Government into a lame duck his first (and only (fingers crossed)) term.

LC-RM: Yes, but the only question is, would Barry stomp his feet and threaten to hold his breath, or scream the other side was “racist” if he stopped getting his way?

  • 9 onlineanalyst // Apr 25, 2009 at 2:14 pm

Any thoughts on this? And why are our own media not covering the issue?

My thinking is that the Obama administration is blowing a lot of smoke re released memos and photographs in order to deflect attention away from the damaging legislation and agency rulings that he is pushing to erode our liberties.

    Re. #8

I’m thinking the answer to your question is yes.

That’s why I mentioned the Blue Dog Democrats, especially in the House if they can effectively neutralize Pelosi. If Obama wants to point fingers at members of his own party, so be it.

The Senate is another story altogether, but one bright spot is that support for Arlen Specter has virtually evaporated, while Pat Toomey’s is growing. A sign of things to come? I’d like to think so. Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and other such R.I.N.O’s had better take notice.

What Obama needs now is a juicy sex scandal followed by the bombing of a Middle Eastern pharmaceutical plant. If only there was someone in his inner circle who has experience with that sort of thing.

Like myself, every Blue Dog I know is now Kelly Green ,trending toward Chartreuse.

Arlen Specter, or Pat Toomey, it makes no difference. Put your money on whichever Democrat opposes them.

It is so nice of you here, to give Obama another hundred days.

He must be winning you over, considering you didn’t want to give him the first one hundred days.

Oh, you people are such a bunch!

“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, bother.”-Obama to Rep. Peter DeFazio, the Democrat congressman who voted against the stimulus bill

That was #100 of 100 Deays, 100 Mistakes.

A handful were trivial, but #s 68 on the misspent stimulus, #76 on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and #80 are quite significant criticisms, not known by many because the media are still in campaign/coronation mode.

The first 100 days of Ackbar the Rock Star are not shaping up to be a glorious record of executive ability nor of statesmanship. The failed Obama presidency is a blight on our nation’s history.

    Imagine if this;
Ezekiel 29:10Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.

    Actually said this;
Ezekiel 29:10Behold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of America utterly waste and desolate, from the tower of world trade even unto the border of Tijuana.

The bottom line is that God made these pronouncements on Egypt (not Israel) because they were engaged in activities that displeased him.
God is the exalter of nations, God also brings nations down. God is not a respecter of persons, he exalts on the basis of obedience, he brings down on the basis of disobedience.
It isn’t required that every American be of any particular faith for her to be blessed or exalted. However, the majority must have respect for the laws of God. Biblical morality will not get anybody’s foot inside Heaven’s gate, but it will however allow a nation to have blessings from Heaven.
When we live our lives as we see fit in a manner that is contrary to God’s law, God will begin to withhold blessings. He will send a messenger to reprove us for our behavior, if we hear his reproof, all is well. When we become “stiffnecked” and self-willed, stubbornly rejecting his laws, we begin to fall from his grace and the more we insist on doing things our own way, the sooner the inevitable will occur - God will judge our attitude of an unyielding heart and spirit.
I don’t know how America can tell God to “buzz off” any more than she already has and not feel his hand of judgment upon her, and not just a little bit. 9/11 might have been our wake up call, I don’t know what God is going to do with us if we continue to walk contrary to his ways, nor do I care to find out.
It doesn’t matter who our President is, when we have gone too far from God, refused his counsel, and selfishly done things our way, it is God that will recompense us our deeds, thoughts, and attitude.
When Miss California was ripped to shreds by Perverted Hilton, the attitude that was exhibited and permitted to be “acceptable” by our nation indicates that we don’t care one little bit about what God says is right or wrong, we are going to do as we wish, and tolerate anything as a nation, whether God likes it or not.
“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” - 1 Corinthians 10:12
Folks, America needs to reconsider her ways. We can try to separate church and state all we want, we cannot separate a nation that has no respect for God from judgment.

God will not judge America for waterboarding a terrorist to extract information in an effort to defend and protect the constitution, and the people. If we do such things with the wrong motivations, we may lose some blessings, but his hand of judgment will not fall as a result. But when you read God’s word and he says he will not tolerate this or that behavior, and we collectively “flip him off” you can bet that if we don’t repent quickly judgment will come.

Barack Obama isn’t our problem, God can use a President to bring us closer to his ways, or away from him with the intent to bring judgment. Our problem is that we are at war with our God. Any guesses on who wins that one?

“God will not judge America for waterboarding …”

Are you God’s oracle? How do you know?
You take a lot on yourself, do you believe you are a prophet, or what?

Besides, America didn’t waterboard anybody. It was the Bush Administration!

America is no more responsible for the actions of Conservatives, than Germany was for the actions of the Nazis.

The world has already passed judgment, you have just ignored it! Now, there will be a judgment by the courts, and by our people!

Does that mean that if Bush, Cheney, Condi, etc. never practiced sodomy that God wouldn’t judge America if say (hypothetically) 92% of adults did?
And since they didn’t have abortions, then the multitude of babies sacrificed on the alter of selfish convenience aren’t offensive to him?

Saul, the first King of Israel got on God’s bad side for some of the things that he did, but God did not condemn the whole nation because of Saul’s sin. But other Kings such as Jeroboam were said to have “made Israel to sin”, so they were both Kings of Israel, and both failed to do things that were pleasing to the Lord. So there is something that differentiates one leader’s sin from that of another. It is not just what you do as a leader, but also how you influence the people you lead.
God hates the shedding of innocent blood, and he destroyed two cities because of sodomy. So you can get a fairly good idea of what God will judge simply by reading what he says about it in his word.
Contrast the last two Presidents and their positions on those two subjects. One supports abortion, one does not. One promotes gay marriage, one does not. Each leader’s stated position reveals their character and their thoughts concerning biblical morality. If they each hold their positions privately, they will be judged only on their positions held. But if they use their position of authority to influence the behavior publicly, they will be judged for how they influenced others. Good or bad.
As you read the history of the Kings of Israel you see a clear picture of kings that did right, and thus God’s blessings, kings that did evil and the consequences. You see that when you had a few consecutive kings that did evil, they nation also fell away from God until eventually God punished them.
You see that also it isn’t just the nation of Israel, God is concerned as to how the other nations live also, his rewards and judgment are consistent, because God is not a respecter of persons.
There is no question that what the “Progressives” are pushing America toward is against God’s law, and the very things that he will judge. No Christian is sinless, no nation is sinless. But the America of the past has very consistently stood for good and fought the perpetrators of evil. Were there war atrocities during every one of our wars, without a doubt there were. But we were never the aggressors in a war, we didn’t take over the island of Japan after we defeated them.
So the “sins” that were committed during those wars were not ones that would bring judgment upon us as a nation.
I’m out of time for this tonight, and I hope I have made my points sufficiently to drop it right here. God doesn’t change, so if you read of activities he condemned in the history of other nations, he is still against it today, and tomorrow.

Winning a war requires agression, ET.

Many incidents, from post-Civil War Reconstriction to the Indian Wars, to War II are stains upon our perceived American honor.

The Yankee massacre at Darien, slaughters at Wounded Knee and Powder River, and the summary execution of Nazis along the roadsides to victory in War II are not things bragged of, spoken of, or prosecuted these days. Regardless of your feelings for America these days, you bear this legacy, so put mind in gear before mouth goes in motion. Read a history book before your self-righteous sense of terminal uniqueness puts you down on the wrong side of history.

In keeping with the latest White House betrayal of national secrets, there are some groovy torture techniques outlined at United Possums International. The Google™ Monster has designated UPI to be a “spam blog”, and you may have trouble getting in, but the ride’s worth the ticket.

The only way I’ll buy into another 100 days of this torture is if/when something blows up, innocent people die, and the public finally revolts against the Manchurian Candidate.

I don’t comment as much as I used to, but I’m still reading here.

    Exodus 4:14
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

    Numbers 11:1
And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

    Numbers 11:10
Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

    Numbers 12:9
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

    Numbers 22:22
And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.

    Numbers 25:3
And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.

    Numbers 25:4
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

I could post many more, but I think you get the idea.
God’s anger and wrath are why we need to make sure we stay on his “good side”. In order to do so, we must fear him and keep his commandments. That is why it would be wise to reconsider our national agenda of abortion on demand. When his patience runs out we will know what it means to be on Gods “bad side”.

“Winning a war requires agression, ET.”

Thanks possum, once again you go right to the heart of the issue.

But, winning a war usually requires the completion of some sort of military objective as well.

Much as I can tell, Dumbyah made this pile right in the middle of the road because Cheney said he could if he wanted to.

They were both real amused by the discomfort it caused everybody, and Dumbyah really enjoyed the smell it made when he dabbled in it.

So Cheney helped Halliburton corner the stick market, then he told the presididiot that he needed to use sticks to get the most smell.

In January when folks made Dumbyah get up, quit stirring, and get out of town, he handed over all of his old used sticks to Obama.

    Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

The law of God makes us guilty. We are saved through grace, by faith in Christ. His grace is sufficient to go above and beyond the vilest of sin. In Christ, God has removed our sin “as far as the east is from the west” and he remembers it no more. Therefore by his grace we are able to (Galatians 5:1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
However, grace should not be treated as license.
(Romans 6:1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? If we sin without regard to God’s law we entangle ourselves in the bondage of sin. Just because God in his grace gives us forgiveness, does not mean that we will not create a big mess for ourselves in this life. Romans 6:2 answers the question posed in 6:1, God forbid. That means we aren’t supposed to live in disregard to his law, even if his grace will cover our sins.(1 Peter 1:16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. If we are not at least making somewhat of an attempt to do so then how can we ever be the representative for Christ that we ought to be? (2 Corinthians 5:20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
