(2009-01-19) — Joe Biden, 66, is old enough to remember when Delaware residents were treated as second-class citizens, now millions of Americans have flooded into Washington D.C. to watch the historic swearing-in of the nation’s first Delawarian vice president.
“It’s a watershed moment,” said the former U.S. Senator, “I’m very conscious that the eyes of the nation — of the world really — will be upon me tomorrow as I place my hand on the Bible and do something that even a generation ago seemed impossible for a native son of Delaware.”
Mr. Biden said he still recalls the sting of scorn endured by his father, when men from other states questioned whether Delaware was actually part of the union, or merely an off-shore corporate tax haven.
“My Dad would just politely mention that Delaware is connected by a land bridge to the continental U.S.,” said Mr. Biden, “He wasn’t trying to pick a fight, but he never gave in to the prejudice without an effort to maintain the dignity of his people…If only he had lived to see this moment.”
Some cynics have noted that Mr. Biden was actually born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and lived in the Keystone State for his first 11 years, but he argues that makes him at least 83 percent Delawarian, which is “a super majority.”
“I wrestled in my college years with questions of my identity,” Mr. Biden said, “but ultimately I came to terms with it and embraced my Delawareness. Sure, I still cringe when I hear some ignorant statist cracking a Caesar Rodney joke, but for the most part I have risen above the bitterness.”

Granted: there will be more eyes on the swearing in of the Chia Pet than on the Obama WH pet today. After all, the Scranton Scrapper set the tone by traveling to DC by train for most of his misguided career in Congress.
Afterward, he will be quickly shunted off to the National Observatory so that he does not put his elegant foot into his mouth during this hysterical occasion.

Joe Biden? Oh ya, he is the white guy tagging along. Forgot about him.

Remember this is Service Day-go build a house or something. Tomorrow you can feel good about yourself as you swear never to do something that stupid again.
But my question is this; If we are all so poor who serves who.

Jivin’ Joe’s oratorical talents have often been ridiculed, but “Delawareness” really does roll off the tongue better than those synonyms which begin with “deer in the headlights.”

It is also a little known fact that Joe “Plugs” Biden is also the first VP to be sworn in that employed the use of “hair-plugs”. Biden has struggled most of his adult life against the discrimination endured by “baldoes”. Which reminds me… Mr. Baldo… oh, let’s not go there.
Best regards.

The Wiki description of Caesar Rodney reports he was a member of the Democratic Republican party…. I guess we truly were united at one time.

When “men from other states” scorned Biden’s dad, I have a feeling it was not a slight against Delaware, rather aginst Biden and his dad, NO MATTER what state they eminated from!
I shouldn’t say bad things about Biden, as he is helping my spiritual life. It makes it MUCH easier to pray for the health and well being of Obama, knowing that Biden is next in line!

Song by The Platters that should be the Obama Anthem for the inauguration:
Oh yes, I’m the great pretender
Pretending that I’m doing well
My need is such; I pretend too much
I’m lonely but no one can tell.
Oh yes, I’m the great pretender
A drift in a world of my own
I play the game; but to my real shame
You’ve let me to dream all alone.
Too real is this feeling of make believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can’t conceal.
Oh yes I’m the great pretender
Just laughing and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I’m not; you see
I’m wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that you’re still around.
Too real is this feeling of make believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can’t conceal
Yes I’m the great pretender
Just laughing and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I’m not you see
I’m wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that you’re still around.

“Why Martin Luther King Was Republican”. Maybe, but his son Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Democrat.
The Democratic Party purged itself of the racist Dixiecrats ceded to the Republicans by it’s principled stand on the 1964 Civil Rights Bill. They became the largest “voting block” of the Republicans known as the “Southern Strategy”.

What is so sad about this inauguration particularly is that the excessive marketing accompanying it cheapens the dignity associated with the office and its responsibilities. Tasteless cheap trinkets (probably manufactured in China) and mindless blatherings from air-head celebrities give the event the qualities of a carnival sideshow. Look at the plethora of junk being hawked in an economy that supposedly is wheezing its way to the Great Depression II: http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=OTMxMzIyN2VkZDVhZjdjMzMxMjcyYmM3MDgyNjgxNmI. From Obama’s announcement to run for office through the whirlwind European tour to the Invesco Field Olympic acceptance of his party’s nomination, Obama has been nothing but a marketed product. Pitiful.
As just one sign of the absurdity fed by popular culture, the world-renowned economic expert, Spike Lee, claims that God created the economic meltdown so that Obama could become President. Besides the idiotic blasphemy of such a claim, this is a reasoned response? This nugget comes from the perpetual grievance impressario who gave the world Malcom X?
Well, good for Obama for fooling so many of the populace. But even members of his own race (If that was the point of what makes his election historical) recognize the foolishness of the Obamalooza. Sister Toljah, Baldilocks, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and Star Parker are verbally less-than-impressed, for they see through the sham, shuck and jive and much of the destructiveness of Obama’s plans.
The distinction of how the overwrought Left and the disappointed Right react to election outcomes is summed up in this tale of three inaugurations from another Black writer: http://www.black-and-right.com/2009/01/19/a-tale-of-three-inaugurations/.

Who knows if the sun will still be shining?
Who knows if the sea will rush to the shore ?
Don’t they know ,It’s the End Of The World,
Since Bush isn’t President any more?
What’ll make the birds go on singing?
What’ll make us glad we were born?
Don’t we know , it’s the End Of The World ,
Since Obama won with the help of ACORN?
I wake up in the morning and I wonder,
Why nothing is the same as it’s been,
I can’t understand ,no I can’t understand ,
Why we’d throw away the best life Man has ever seen.
Why does the Media go on cheating?
Why can’t they be even and fair?
Don’t they know it’s the End Of The World,
When we all hear Obama say,” I Swear”?

Yes, the show is about to begin and all indicators show that I might have been overly optimistic in my prognostications when I used the word Horrorshow over the past couple of years.

I seriously believe that this historic occasion will result in more people turning to Almighty God—He can use bad stuff for good stuff.

Obama has changed his plans for a basketball court where the bowling alley was. He now has plans for either a Popeye’s Chicken store or Bar-b-que Heaven .

Bimbo Biden as VP … who would have thunk it.
Note: Whenever the Donks and the liberal national media speak of a new age of “responsibility” and “sacrifice” please keep in mind they are using liberal codewords for MORE TAXES.
No one in their right mind could possibly believe that these liberal humanists are actually going to ask/require their constituents living on the welfare plantation and in prison to be engaging in more “sacrifice” or to take personal responsibility for their lifestyle.
So watch in the very near future, when any tax proposals on the part of these socialist humanists is advanced they will invariably be accompanied by the words “sacrifice” and “responsibility.”
You see, in a Donk’s warped mind, it’s very patriotic to first demand your government to increase taxes (to fund a government program which directly benefits them, btw!) and then to joyfully pay them. Kind of like 1776 in reverse. That’s why they complain (like David Broder did in a recent moonbat commentary) that one of Bush’s failures was not to ask for “more sacrifice” from Americans during the war on terror. Clearly codeword for more taxes (to enlarge the welfare state) because Broder certainly wasn’t talking about Americans living on rationed gasoline/food/tires or working in arms factories.

Almost time…time for some respect and dignity. Respect for ones “enemies” (because they aren’t enemies) in Congress. Respect for other nations, other viewpoints in general. Not wishy-washy, genuine respect. you’ll be shocked at what can happen when America believes that others might have a point. Shocked I tell ye. It’s been otherwise for so long that it’s almost impossibe to imagine but you’ll see soon enough.
And, once the world sees the respect the dignity will be apparent as the cause.
Oh, and he’s going to cut (yes, cut) taces on me and mine. Once I hit the lottery (which will of course never happen) and I have my millions I’ll automatically become a Republican and expect a tax cut.
As for “small business” and the pain they’ll suffer as a result of all their profit being taxed I say again…if there’s a “small” business out there that’s showing a “profit” (does anyone here know what that menas?) of more the $250,000 then they need a new accountant. there might be 50 “small” businesses in the countryshowing that kind of profit but again, they need a better accountant.
Funny premise Scott!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President-elect Barack Obama honored his vanquished Republican rival John McCain on Monday, describing the Arizona senator as an “American hero” while the Democrat prepared to assume the office that both men fought bitterly to attain.
And there are already many more. Press conferences for instance. Obama has the nerve to call on people by name/title/organization (as though they were professionals with feelings/value) instead of emulating George and calling them “stretch” and “skippy” and such. No wonder they held George in such “high” regard.
The same can/will go for Congress and the rest of the world .

He did not pardon any of his felonious administration for their behavior over the last eight years, leaving open the possibility of legal retribution. Too bad he had to wait till his last day to get something right. But hey, maybe he was trying to right some of his wrongs by this action.

JL3rd # 107 - There is no person or persons that I hate I would have to state that the only thing I honestly hate is stupidity. Since “racism” fits under that heading, I too hate “racism”.
There has, in my 71 years, never been such a display of stupidity as took place in Washington D.C. today.
A line, in a long ago movie, recited by a “mover and shaker” Madison Avenue type, who owned and ran a major Advertising Agency. In a political environment he said, “Give me an unlimited budget, and I will take any person you pick off of the sidewalks outside, I said any person and I mean literally any person and put that person in the White House as President of the United States!”
George Soros must have seen that movie and said to himself, “I believe he’s right, I think I’ll just try that.” and so he picked the least qualified person he could find in all America and with an unlimited budget, much from highly questionable sources, for $668 million dollars he bought the Presidency for his usurper.
He may, in the short future, experience severe ‘buyers remorse’. He might have done far better with “Joe, the plumber”.
As I figured, today seems to have brought a bunch of trolls out of their hidey-holes probably dribbling their usual vomit inducing rotten garbage out of their respective keyboards. I can’t know, of course, since it’s been many months since I allowed their crud into my reading. From some Scrappler’s comments I can easily see that I was right.
Stupidity does have one good point and that is that the repercussions are unduly severe. Perhaps, just as we needed Jimmy Carter to get us a Ronald Reagan, we need B.O. - the Usurper to get us another Ronald Reagan - Sarah Palin perhaps? Or if we could get Senator Jim Inhofe out of Oklahoma along with Congressman Ted Poe, we might return Conservatism to the Republican Party with genuine leadership.
109 BlackLion31U // Jan 20, 2009 at 9:45 pm
Hey up north, Clinton didn’t destroy our image around the world, look it up, most leaders especially European considered it nothing and wondered why we were making such an issue of the situation.
Oh, and I haven’t forgotten that “all volunteer” that those of you not partaking like to point out. The fact is, even if you volunteer for military service, doesn’t mean you expect your leader to ask you to sacrifice your life for an unnecessary war. Sit back in your padded room and volunteer others. Good job.

But I must ask you about a couple of things sir. The first is, are you 100% legal to be sitting in that chair? Rhetoric is cheap, but the proof is easily produced if you are legal. Just do it.
Second, I want to question something that I heard you say today, you said something to the effect that in the past “we” have failed to make the hard choices, but now we must do so. Aren’t you the same guy that is on record as having voted “present” on what must have been “hard choices”?

Must be the new President, I had the warmest feeling today that I have felt in weeks. Yes it was up around 60 beautiful degrees in Gillette. I took my 2008 International to the car wash today and made it look presentable again. I’ve had it back for a whole week now, but it isn’t any better than before. As soon as the temperature drops it will be a miracle if it will start. The whole situation has me to thinking that the root of the problem is most likely the ability of our elected representatives (and some appointed individuals) to write regulations specifying how “clean” or “green” the diesel engines must run these days. Could it be that the act of writing regulations is not a guarantee that it is feasible in the real world? The people who wrote the rules are not effected one bit by what they have written, but I am. They do not know me, neither do they care about the plight I am in due to their intervening in this area. Maybe the technology isn’t quite there yet to function under real world conditions. I am hearing of many others with similar stories.

And a tip-o-the-hat to Virgil (Letty Pack)
Mark Levin explains that the oath of office is to take place at 12 pm. Biden wasn’t quite done taking his oath of office so Hussein was a couple of minutes late taking his oath of office. Bush was out of office at 12 pm so there was no president for a couple of minutes. But that is not possible, according to the constitution in this case the secretary of state becomes president. So legally Condeliza Rice was the first black president of the United States.

Major Domo #119 - The empty suit would be his proving that money can buy anything - even the presidency, so he picked the least qualified person he could find in all America. Not even a negro but a mulatto to be his usurper.
My first choice for a negro President (if he would even consider it) would be Dr. Walter E. Williams. or perhaps Federal Appeals Court Judge Janice Rogers Brown (but I’d actually prefer to see her on the Supreme Court. As a very strict Constitutionalist, she’s the fly in the liberals jar of ointment)
123 Fred Sinclair // Jan 21, 2009 at 5:09 am
Oops I forgot - The Honorable James David Manning PHD (a genuine, certifiable negro) might be considered. He is the other side of Preacher Jeremiah Wright’s coin. In one sermon he referred to B.O. “Barack is an emissary of the Devil.”
That’s enough to give him standing in my book.

I would like to say that libs, (the trolls here), are simple hypocrites, but when they say something of this monumental stupidity, (statement is forthcoming). they are simply the brain-dead, mind controlled lemmings, that we now see MOST, of the dimocratic party has become!
Are you ready for the libs new mantra that I heard a dozen times yesterday?
Here it is, “Obama is president now, so GET OVER IT!”
I guess people with itsey bitsey, puny brains, destoyed by too much alcohol and drugs don’t realize, (as evidenced by the above troll posts), that they are telling us to do something that after 8 years, they CANNOT do themselves!
Their non-”annointed” new leader will be a carbon copy of them, or vise-versa!
I would say to you brain dead libs, get ready for non stop bashing of this faux administration, every time they mess up, (which will be often), because we, (or at least I), will not forget the foul, vile things you have, (and continue to say), against a decent man, even if he did make some errors.
I ask GOD to help me NOT make it personal, (as the filthy left did/does, and on display here with the lib trolls), but I WILL take GREAT pleasure in pointing out EVERY misstep Obama and the lib Congress makes that hurts America during his hopefully short tenure!

It’s kind of like playing a game with a child when they say, “Ok I’m winning, can we quit now?”.
I was thinking along these same lines earlier today. That for the past eight years, some of the most vile things had been said about President Bush and members of his Administration. But now that Barack H-word Obama has been inaugurated, it’s time to “stop being partisan”. As if to say, “We on the left are so much more morally superior than you fiends on the right, so we have every right to be divisive and partisan against you. But whenever we get our power back (that was somehow stolen from us) you are to bow down, obey, worship the ground we walk on and keep your mouths shut.”
I’m thinking about doing something for the planet, such as looking into recycling protest signs from 2001-08 and re-using them. Some might need a little editing, but signs that read “Dissent is Patriotic” need not be altered.

Short excerpt from “Canada Free Press” by Judi McLeod - Editor
“America is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy no matter how many times you hear it otherwise. A Republic is government by the rule of law. The foundation of that law in America is our Constitution and it is our Supreme Law. A Democracy is government by the rule of the majority, or the mob. Whatever the majority decides to be acceptable becomes the law no matter how the minority may complain, or how many rights the law may trample.
“Verily, verily I say unto you, rise up Americans as did our forefathers and those that led them. Rise up in anger and commitment to right the wrongs and grievances that have been thrust upon us by a government that has lost all allegiance to our founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, that is the irrevocable gift of our Creator. Every day, in perpetuity, we must prove to government, at every level, and others, that we will vehemently defend that gift, because unless we do, government will do whatever it pleases, and it is.â€
