McCain Plans Chain of Obama Recovery Centers

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 47 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2008-10-26) — John McCain reportedly has already laid plans to heal the nation’s political wounds, and to offer new hope to countless journalists and other liberals whose faith will have been shattered by the defeat of Barack Obama at the polls on November 4.

According to an unnamed campaign insider, Sen. McCain’s “compassion for the multitudes who will suddenly be like sheep without a shepherd” has resulted in detailed plans for…

  • a nationwide chain of in-patient Obama recovery centers,
  • community-based 12-step groups, and
  • fast-track FDA approval for a post-Obama patch (a wearable mix of sugar, Koolaid and a mild steroid) designed to “help the user through the rough spots after losing his hope for change.”

A top Democrat strategist today acknowledged that colleagues have discussed privately what they would do in the “doomsday scenario” of an Obama loss, but they’ve dealt with the threat by “simply putting it out of our minds and focusing on the transition plan for his ascension to the White House. Anything Barack can conceive, we can believe. Yes, we can.”

The strategist added that transition planning has been much easier this year because “most of the research has been done, and we’re just revising and synthesizing the transition plans we have on file for Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and John Kerry. In other words, we already know how long the drapes need to be.”

Duh, there has been an attempt to "rescue" the republican party from the conservative Christian right for decades, you do not need to post RINO rumblings, we are aware how many feel about us. Not much differently than the democrat party feels about pro-life democrats.

The Bush years have been pretty good, if we would have controlled spending and gotten even more tax breaks, and less "stimulus" checks, I would be quite satisfied. The media has lied, distorted, and attacked him from day one, with a short reprieve after 9/11. Too bad you haven't been around long here enough to get better informed. Dart posted a piece a while back about who really lied about the Iraq War, too bad you missed it. We talk about how the republican party does not want us in it. Being pro-life embarrasses them, they want to have a "moderate" base. In other words the dems have gone to the far left and they want to be where the dems used to be. I gotta run!

I do carry a gun. And I know how to use it. But if obamanation gets elected, I guarantee he will do everything in his power to curcumvent the 2nd ammendment. He wants us to do away with nuclear weapons and he wants to put so many restrictions on gun ownership that the second ammendment will be nill and void. in other words; he wants to disarm this country. Whose side do you think he is on. If he succeds, his muslem buddies will walk right in and take over. lets not forget these two quotes,(cont)

The Beacon Journal has front page article praising ObaMama’s 49 to 66 percent lead over McCain.

But!!! This is the rest of the story

The newspapers in the group are the Akron Beacon Journal, the Blade in Toledo, the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Columbus Dispatch, Dayton Daily News, the Plain Dealer in Cleveland, the Repository in Canton and the Vindicator in Youngstown.

The newspapers commissioned the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati to conduct the poll, which was done by surveying 869 likely Ohio voters Sept. 12-16. The poll has an error margin of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points. Two additional Ohio Newspaper Polls will be conducted before the Nov. 4 election: on the Iraq war and national security, and on the economy.

Umm, first the above are all inner city papers and heavilay Democratic cities, except Columbus. But, once again, the poll was taken September 12 through 16th.

What the heck. Who are the fooling. Well, last point taken. I should know better than to ask

I attended a pig roast yesterday afternoon across the county line where the Republicans live. When we finished the last go around at the feast table and were rubbing our bellies from all the pot luck food and the sacrificial pig, I as usual, started in on OB1. Now remember, I was a guest and only knew two people there.

Finally I had a receptive audience, the first time this election season. I can’t recall exactly what point we were discussing but as I said something to the effect of McCain being a better choice, a young woman (30′ish) walked by and returned the volley about ……you mean worse than Bush.

Another high school spit out. In other words, it is obvious she never studied government in school. I told her as she attempted to scurry past us, the economic downturn, in large part has been a Pelosi, Reed, Senate, doing. That “Bush” has little power in creating the laws that govern our everyday life.

The table looked at each other and agreed, but gee, never quite saw it that way. Also my friend was a little hesitant about Palin. I asked her point blank why. Turns out she had a lot of CNN rattling about in her gray matter. She had no idea that the National Guard was on alert 24/7. When the question was reversed about Obama-mama’s military service to qualify him a Chief of Staff the table went into immediate consultation with her. Perhaps she saw the light.

It sure felt nice to be in a safe poltical arena. Will I get invited again next year? I think so. Great evening and great conversation for a change

And Fred in the eighth comment, says to pray for America with an urgency as never before. I assume he means praying to God via Jesus Christ, which will be forbidden under the rule of the “one”. Instead we will be required to bow down to his image…

I agree with you. I believe the travesty of the last eight years under George W. Bush has made it more likely for Sen. Barack Obama to become the President of the United States. Many have learned from the last eight years and do not wish to repeat it.

Strengthening the position of GOD in the Community couldn’t me more simple. We make all Federal and State; business, religious and private writings, (includes rules, regulations, statues, decrees -the Bill of Rights, the Holy bible, Catechism, the Quoran, and all Holy scriptures) are to be modernized and brought into line with modern values. To that end the word “GOD” shall be removed from these documents and replaced with the phrase “God, Our must glorious Lord Jesus Christ before whom we humble and subjugate ourselves, and his Mother, the Holy Virgin Mary”.

“whole” = “hole”. But nonetheless the whole unholy hole! (~;)

Clinging bitterly to my Gospel Guns and & “religion”, this has been a constant (encouragement) for me-Re: Prayer:

“What we need to remember is that prayer is powerful. In fact, it is probably much more powerful than you and I have ever imagined. The reason we aren’t convinced of that fact is that we usually fail to pray consistently, intensely and strategically. The enemy has done a good job of convincing us that prayer is a hit-or-miss attempt to get God to do what we want and that it is only effective on select occasions. Satan has spent a lot of effort on that sort of propaganda because he knows that prayer defeats him-always. Our casual attitudes about prayer are the result of his desperate and aggressive attempts to neutralize the most powerful weapon against him.
Knowing that, what will you do now? If you are content with the status quo in your effectiveness as a Christian, do what you have been doing all along. The same practices will reap the same results. But if you want to have a dynamic impact for the kingdom of light and against the kingdom of darkness, the answer should be clear. Pray. Pray with consistency, pray intensely, and pray with a plan”.

“Until recently Joe Btfsplk has been very simply the worlds worst jinx. He walks around with a perpetually dark rain cloud a foot over his head. Once he appears on any scene, dreadfully bad luck befalls everyone in his vicinity. Though well meaning and gentle, his reputation inevitably precedes him, so Joe is a greatly feared little man. He is also a character with an apparently unpronounceable name, but creator Al Capp pronounced Btfsplk with a “raspberries” sound, also known as a Bronx cheer.
Now we have a usurper to the title. In the increasingly unlikely event that Obummer a/k/a “B.O. a/k/a B. Hussein Obama becomes POTUS his name will be changed to “Joe Btfsplk” so pay attention and memorize the spelling of his name as well as the correct pronunciation so when Joe’s USSA becomes reality you can express yourself when contacting your relatives who successfully escaped to gain political asylum in Cuba or Venezuela.

    MNK,

I’ve been reading and posting to Scrappleface for at least four years. It seems like it’s been even long than that, maybe six years. I have jousted with people who are still here and some who unfortunately are no longer with us.
My original cause was to protest what I felt was an unnecessary war in Iraq. I believe history has proven that is was in fact unnecessary. I believed we should have focused all of our resources in Afghanistan.

“The Bush years have been pretty good, if we would have controlled spending and gotten even more tax breaks, and less “stimulus” checks, I would be quite satisfied.”

I really can’t see how we are better off now than we were 8 years ago. Controlling spending is paramount. How much have we invested in the Iraq war both monetarily and with the blood of our honorable service members?

Are conservative Republicans really happy with the way President Bush has governed under your philosophies?

MNK, I am a Christian and a strong believer. I admit that Jesus Christ would not approve of some of my comments here. I strongly believe that it is extremely dangerous to allow any religion to be integrated into this countries political venue. I believe that the founding fathers specifically tried to keep that from happening.
If our government is allowed to set the precedent of allowing Christianity to play a key roll in governing policies, we expose the future of this country to being governed by other religions.
The country was founded allowing people to practice whatever religion they believe without scrutiny from the government. That is still in tact. You and I can worship Jesus Christ without government intervention. The government of this country does not affect my relationship with my God, nor should it affect your relationship or beliefs.
If the religious movement is allowed as I think you see it, now doubt, at some point in the future that fundamental goal of our founding fathers will be lost. I don’t want my great-great Grandchildren to have a government that dictates what they should believe.

Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said:

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.

Sorry Pat - somewhere between your time and mine somebody forgot to pass this on.

Actually Pat, it wasn’t that so much that but as Pete told the early Christians:
1Pet. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Paul also knew what lay ahead and he cautioned in his letter to the church of at Ephesus. Eph. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. but too many forgot their shield of faith. Eph. 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

So the wiles of the devil manifested themselves as “The absence of God” a/k/a “evil” a/k/a “Socialism” a/k/a “Today’s Democrat Party”.

Sorry about that Pat, unless God puts His hand in, it looks like America as we’ve known it is going to end up as nothing than perhaps a footnote in a history book somewhere.

But then keep reminding myself (and God) that He has a horse in this race. I’ve been reading some of the prayers by David and Daniel plus others, they were constantly reminding God of something - like maybe God had forgotten? But they got answers!

Psa. 4:1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
    Psa. 13:3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
Psa. 17:6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
    Psa. 55:2 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
Psa. 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
Psa. 69:13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
Psa. 69:16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
Psa. 69:17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
Psa. 86:1 Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
Psa. 119:145 I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
Psa. 143:7 Hear me speedily, O LORD: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

I feel so much for what Fred writes “that this great nation was founded not by religionists(sic) but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ” and agree that sould be as is was and as it is.
Sadly Fred is wrong: “…Some of the more prominent Founding Fathers were anti-clerical or vocal about their opposition to organized religion, such as Jefferson. Some of them often related their anti-organized church leanings in their speeches and correspondence, including George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson (who created the “Jefferson Bible”), and Benjamin Franklin…..” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Founding_Fathers_of_the_United_States#Religion

Grogg #28 - “Sadly Fred is wrong:”

I didn’t say it, I quoted Patrick Henry and as much as I agree, I cannot take credit.

On the other hand….. I have, and have read many more than several times, a copy of our American Constitution. I agree wholeheartedly with Judge Janice Rogers Brown (Federal appeals Court - Washington D.C.) In the entire Constitution there is not so much as a single reference to even the idea of, or even an oblique reference to the idea of the separation of Church and State.

The injunction against the federal establishment of a National Religion ala The Church of England, is just that and nothing more; the first of several pronouncements in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion….” Together with the Free Exercise Clause, (”…or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”), these two clauses make up what are commonly known as the “religion clauses” of the First Amendment.

Legislation from “The bench” has come up with this atheists goal of eradicating all mentions of religion or Christianity from public view.

An egg hunt on the white House is fine so long as the Jews, Mormons and whatever it is attending Jeremiah Wright’s “church” have their own egg roll whenever they want.

  • 34 mindknumbed kid // Oct 26, 2008 at 4:26 pm

Three ways of dealing with an enemy. Battle. Ignore. Appease. Only one way is effective. I view Muslim Extremists as being a threat. I view the Iraq War as being justified and good for our security.
I do not think anyone who is of another religion is a threat to my freedom or our national security, and though as a Christian we know they are following a lie, and the father of lies can use them to bring about evil.
But that does not mean that as an American I willingly and wantonly throw open the doors of my country to anyone of any religious faith to lead the nation. Therefore, it is incumbent upon me to see to it, to the best of my ability, that the person that is elected be the one most closely aligned with what I know to be right. Ultimately right or wrong is determined by God, and not man. It only takes one issue to determine how a person views God and his laws. In this case (not in all cases) I only need to look at the issue of abortion. Anyone that has any knowledge of God knows that he is not pleased with anyone that sheds innocent blood. For most people this is not an indication of anything more than how the candidate views “women’s issues/rights” and no an issue of right or wrong, and certainly they don’t draw a conclusion about a candidate’s morality from their view. To me it is a litmus test on a person’s view of God and Christianity. If I needed to go deeper to find a candidate’s view I could and would, but I do not need to, in recent history one has always been pro and the other con. That reveals the party’s views.
For me, God’s laws have to be part of a candidate’s reasoning, integral to their thought process in determining where they will stand.
Is John McCain “my man”? I really dislike him. But I can vote for him over Obama without question. But if I could vote without consequence, I would not vote for either of the two major party’s offerings.
What America needs more than anything else is God’s guidance, wisdom, and blessing. It cannot come by voting for anyone that has no regard for his precepts. If that doesn’t bother you, I question your sincerity as a follower of Christ.
See, I don’t even need to get into his socialistic tendencies, his terrorist friends, or his inexperience and naivety, to know I cannot vote for him.

    Greetings,
The outcome of the upcoming U.S. elections will have a profound impact on the war. Meanwhile, the day to day fighting continues. If Senator Obama is elected, I expect to spend a great deal of time covering the fighting. Judging by his words, Senator Obama must be watched closely or we might see some terrible decisions. I expect 2009 to be the worst year so far in the Af-Pak war, which has serious potential to eventually become far worse than Iraq ever was. If Senator McCain is elected, I’ll breathe easier in regard to the war.
    Very Respectfully,

    Blacklion,

With your quote of Franky Schaeffer’s letter, are you now willing to mix church and state and religion and politics in order to advance the cause of your new messiah, Obama?

In the not too distant past Franky stabbed his own father in the back by corrupting the faith that was handed down to him for no other reason than rebellion’s sake. A man who so publicly betray his own father to make himself feel the better man is a graceless traitor of the worst sort. Why would I want to listen to a man like him who now has the gall to interject himself in politics by supporting a false political messiah?

Sorry, even if the Pope himself commanded me to follow Obamessiah I wouldn’t on the basis of what I know to be true. But I bet you and others like you would rush to embrace the Pope like you believed him to be the vessel of all truth and grace, right?

Sorry, no cigar, Blacklion. The very real fact Franky supports a man who would allow a post-partum aborted baby die without any medical aid shows me what an absolutely blind apostate Franky has become, particularly as he whores himself to the ideology of a latently dangerous neo-Marxist like Obamba. And there are many more things about Obama’s lack of character and judgment that no self-respecting Christian can possibly embrace.

Frankie has clearly been deceived by the light of Obamessiah’s teleprompter and there are special places for those who embraced a pretend Christianity as he has and now sups with God-haters, scoffers and secular elites.

Os Guinness thoughfully skewers Franky Schaeffer’s self-serving twisted views of his own parents and his subsequent betrayal of his father’s memory and faith. There are special places for people who stab their own parents in the back, particularly when they are dead and can no longer defend themselves against such libels and slanders

Has anyone else noticed how nominal I-was-born-a-Christians, liberal “Christians”, liberal seculars, Muslim fundamentalists, liberal Jews, and atheist fundamentalists have a common goal in mocking, denigrating, and lying about conservative Christians in hopes of marginalizing us with their politics of personal destruction?

The most disturbing aspect is when those who were thought to be “mainstream Christians” now demonize sincere Evangelical, Catholic, Protestant and salt-of-the-earth non-denominational Christian conservatives who have long been the very pillars of Western Civilization and this nation since its founding. I suppose Franky would also condemn the founders for being too concerned with matters of money and business and subjugating the people to their warped view of God’s kingdom on earth. Pretty arrogant if you ask me.

It’s long been believed that the anti-Christ himself will have been christianized to one degree which makes his ability to seduce or wage war upon the living saints even more effective.

According to the book of Revelations The Great Whore is essentially the apostate Church. The Great Apostasy would probably not look too different from the picture we have today where Christianized American liberals and nominal religionists like Franky Shaeffer eventually prostrate themselves before a false messiah. That is, they see their worldly salvation in a system of government or in charismatic political figures who glibly make promises of ushering in a great utopia for the masses.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read ‘Vote Obama, I need the money.’ I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a ‘Obama 08′ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference — just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need-the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
Any way, it was fun trying to follow the Obama Plan… I like to be in front on everything.

    Darth-
With as much whitewash as Obama can get he still comes through it all with quesion marks. How is it that normally rational people won’t ask blatantly risky friendships and character flaws that Obama has? I don’t get a tingle up my leg, I get a shiver down my spine when I think of all the events and beliefs people will ignore for this one man. All the things folks are willing to overlook with such ease people will sell their country out.
It’s like a Monty Python skit where the guy has his cart loaded down with dead bodies and he’s yelling, ‘Bring out your dead.’

If ANYONE believes America’s founding fathers did NOT believe GOD should be involved in EVERY part of governing this great Country they need to take a walk around our Capitol, (Washington, D.C.), and ask themselves if the founding fathers did not OVERWHELMINGLY agree, GOD’s should be involved in EVERY part of our government, why would they have so many references to HIM on almost EVERY building there?

AND, if ANYONE believes they can be a Christian and also support a man, (I use that term VERY loosely), who voted over and over to let a baby that survives a botched abortion to die, without help from a doctor or ANYONE else. they will be in for a shock on JUDGEMENT day! He said recently that we should not “tie up” doctors. Maybe that is also the same respect he has for Granny’s life and why he could wait 4 plus days to get to her?

No other liberal in the Senate was evil enough to vote against the “born alive” bill, no one other than “Number 2, B.O.”!
And if you do not think GOD will hold those that KNOW he voted that way, JUST as responsible when they vote for him in 9 days, guess again. If he is President, my bet is the vote will change in his favor.

I can say, with GOD as my witness, I have been a Republican all my life, but if someone like Zell Miller was running against McCain, Zell would have my vote.

I only wish,(actually PRAY), that idealogs would put aside their partisanship for the good of the Country because Obama is a train wreck waiting to happen. I say this, I am VERY disappointed with the nominee of my party, but there is NO OTHER CHOICE this election!

BL31U, You ALMOST had me with your speech above but, while I will agree I am sure GOD and Jesus are also disappointed with some of MY comments, I would never praise Scott, (as you did), then use links to sites, like Huffington, that post the most vile comments, and REMOVE EVERYTHING they do not agree with!

Why do you not go there and tell them what you told us, and scold them for doing what they do?

I would believe you were on the right road if you would do that and I would also apoligize to you then.

Please send a link, if you do that.

AOL’s webpage, as well as ATT/Yahoo’s big story of the day is “Alaska’s Biggest Newspaper Endorses Obama”.

Why is that any bigger story than AOL, CNN, MSNBC, N.Y. Times, (you get the point) Endorse Obama? Libs OWN MOST of the media, even in Alaska where Sarah has about an 80% favorable rating.

I actually get a chuckle out of the daily BIG story from AOL and AT&T, which is almost ALWAYS about McCain/Palin and ALWAYS, 100% of the time, NEGATIVE!

Remember when AOL was a MAJOR player in the IP buiness? They let ther left, wing nut leanings destroy their business, and STILL do NOT get it!

Just likew what is happening with NBC, and MOST of the print media, they are dying a slow death, yet continue to get even worse.

Keep in mind, these are the same people who say Bush is stubborn, (which, I ALSO believe he is). The difference is, SOMETIMES, my mind can be changed, and I gaurantee if it starts costing me my business, I might even FAKE I had changed!

Well, -I would FAKE it, IF, I were a “GODless, lib”!

Outstanding, mig. I wonder if I have the courage to do that, particularly since I’m a pretty big tipper. You know, lay the ten spot on the table for the waiter/waitress to see and then ask, “Just out of curiousity, who did you vote for?”

If they say “Obama”, then do exactly as you suggested. Buwahahahahahaha!

R.A.M. Re: “Alaska’s Biggest Newspaper Endorses Obama.”

I wonder who they endorsed in the election that made Sarah Palin Governor.
Just curious how good their predictive powers are, and their consistency.

BL31U Re: “… I disagree with many of the points made in this blog and have engaged in many spirited debates with other readers.”

I’ve seen you post a lot of assertions, and quotes of assertions, BL31U, but those don’t really qualify as “debate.” Other than mere fawning, can you offer some quotes from recognized public figures, or even your own, outlining specific accomplishments that demonstrate Obama’s qualifications to lead the country?

wv - is explaining - Yes, that would be good.
