(2008-05-24) — Just a day after citing the persistence of Robert F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign as justification for her to remain in the race for the Democrat nomination, Sen. Hillary Clinton noted that the U.S. victory over Hitler’s Germany “didn’t really get started until June.”
Sen. Clinton, in an interview aboard her financially-strapped campaign’s flagship Toyota Prius, said, “I’m reminded of the words of John Belushi who asked, ‘Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?’”
The former presumptive Democrat nominee said, “I’ve been thinking about Sen. Ted Kennedy’s recent medical challenges, and so I was reminded of the Kennedy family and how Bobby stayed in the race until June 6, when he withdrew unexpectedly. Of course, June 6, was D-Day, which was also the name of one of the main characters in the movie ‘Animal House’. That, naturally, reminded me of John Belushi and his inspiring speech about never giving up. So what I’m saying is that I’m a fighter, like the boys of Delta House.”
Sen. Clinton, eager to make sure her remarks and her motivations are not misinterpreted, said, “I don’t mean to raise the specter of assassination, global war and atomic bombs to say anything other than: It ain’t over ’til it’s totally, utterly and completely over.”

There is an ultra-subtle nuance meandering through The Hill & Bill Show which provokes me to monitor it at all times-using only my peripheral vision [running in the background], of course.
Occasionally, to break the mind-numbing monotony, I enjoy looking askance and then averting my eyes in rapid succession.
I’m waiting for the End Game, you see. I predict many will gasp in astonishment.

Sigh. Yet another comment lost in the ozone.
Then again, I can try to reconstruct it here on the new thread. Here goes …
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I just don’t understand!
Why is everybody freaking out over Hillary raising the issue of assassination ?
She should be commended for reminding Barack of why we have Vice Presidents!
And food tasters …

Bobby Kennedy stayed in the race until his “unexpected” withdrawal, so Hillary must be hoping for an “unexpected” withdrawal from Obama sometime soon. Does Her Thighness know something the rest of us don’t?
Just when it seems that the democrats can’t sink any lower, they manage to “git ‘er done,” anyway.

Is it just me, or does the fervor over Hillary’s RFK comment remind anyone else of Bush’s “appeasement” comment — in the sense that why does everyone in the media assume the world revolves around Barack Obama? Hillary never mentioned or even inferred Obama in her statement, so why is everyone assuming she meant for the possibility of Obama’s assassination?
I just watched a video of Hillary’s comment and I gotta say, while I didn’t quite get her point of mentioning RFK, I also didn’t come away with this idea that she’s hoping Obama gets assassinated. And I certainly didn’t come away with the kind of venom that Michael Goodwin is spewing in his column today at the Daily News about this. I agree that Hillary is a power-hungry opportunist, but I think to interpret her comment as “wishing for assassination” says more about the mentality of the interpreters than it does about Hillary.
I know it’s fun to jump on the Hate Hillary Bandwagon, but I think that misses the point. The real point is this is just another example of the media wanting to protect Obama like a newborn babe from any and all negativity- real or imagined. According to the media, we’re now all supposed to fear for Obama’s safety. Yeah, whatever.

de Bunny #6 - I’ve got a great little book I carry everywhere. In the top half of the cover (white on red) is half of the title “WHY CHRISTIANS DON’T VOTE
___________________________
the bottom half (blue on white) is the other half of the title FOR DEMOCRATS”
(by) Richard Miller
In it he points out why a Christian cannot vote for those who defile, degrade, dishonor and try to debunk everything that Christ did or said, all the while supporting and promoting everything He spoke against.
Voting for a liberal is basically a personal statement i.e. - “I HATE JESUS!!!”
You say “Just when it seems that the democrats can’t sink any lower, they manage to “git ‘er done,†anyway.”
Actually, it’s hard to sink any lower, when you’re on the bottom of the barrel
but somehow they manage to “git” themselves - under the barrel.
If I were a betting man (which I’m not) I’d take the deed to the farm to Reno or Las Vegas, find me a sucker and bet it all that neither “HillBilly, Inc. not Mr. B. Hussein Obama will be President of the United States, come next January.

Let’s see if this comment gets through.
As I saw somewhere else aroung the blogosphere re Madame Hillary!- “It ain’t over until the fat lady sinks.”
I have to agree with you, Fred, about how the media have twisted She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed’s remarks. It’s all OhBummer, all of the time. Everything is seen through His Holiness’s filter. The Lefties have been pursuing the assassination scenario for some months. Remember that he was the first contender to ask for Secret Service protection.
Hildabeast was only making a protest that she should not get out of the race because there is a precedent for the primary campaign lasting into June: Hubby Slickmeister’s and Robert Kennedy’s.
From day to day, week to week, and month to month, this endless campaign has shifted the fortunes of all of those running for the prize. As long as Operation Chaos has been in effect, the Dems are wasting lots of money on their primary runs, and we are learning quite a bit about OhBummer’s weaknesses and his incapability to assume the presidency. He has no knowledge of history or economics, he has questionable connections, and he talks like/thinks like a collectivist-Marxist.
BTW Hot Air has the funniest YouTube linked of a gray parrot that is obviously an OhBummer supporter. He is as bird-brained as Mr. Articulate’s followers. Check it out; the comments are a hoot, too.
OT but very relevant: This is a salute to all of those who have served (or are currently serving) in our Armed Forces. Poppies of remembrance for you this Memorial Day weekend. I thank you for your service, and I can never forget your sacrifices and dedication to our country and its freedoms.

But the true pleasure lies in seeing Hillary Clinton treated thusly by the press!
Delicious!

Obama is now the “Untouchable One!” Any criticism of him immediately brings the media down on your head, stamping RACIST across your forehead.
In pre BHO times, Hillary’s speech would have been praised for her grasp of history and how it relates to the present. Now, nada, nothing, nicht.
Were Obama to get popped, you can bet Hillary would have an onion soaked hankie as she praised him as a worthy opponent until she was back in the room at the Ritz-Carlton ordering champagne.
The interesting thing in all of this is the cracks in the Democrat party are beginning to show. Unfortunately, they still know what they want…power and they will get it in the House and Senate, a veto proof liberal agenda pushed regardless of the occupant of the WH.
If Obama, by some stroke of fate does win in November, he will find out people will say things about him he may not like, but Michelle will be the one kneecapping the opposition. We will be in it for the duration, stock up on food, water, TP and ammo. If possible, leave the large cities because Iran will have the bomb in about 1 1/2 years and talking won’t protect us.

Beerme, you make a good point about finally seeing Hillary being eaten by one of her own. That is, indeed, sweet justice. But I also think it’s wise to note the inherent attack on conservatism the media is making here…
Mark my words: after this incident, we’re going to see more media pundits claim that criticism of Obama could potentially “incite violence” against him, and how we all need to start choosing our words carefully because Obama’s life has been threatened ever since he entered this race.
Just watch Keith Olbermann’s idiotic rant on this issue. According to him, America is infested with crazed racists waiting in the wings to murder Obama, and the mere mention of the word “assassination” could set them off!
Oops! I just said “assassination”. Sorry, Barack. Oops, I said it again! This is turning into a Monty Python sketch…

I just saw photos of global climate change, thanks to Letty Pack. It’s truly awesome; the “red spot” on Jupiter is twice the diameter of our earth.
Mr. J. Wright has assured us that Bush has a secret mechanical device he used to steer Hurricane Katrina directly into New Orleans, so as to kill all of the negroes living there.
The climate change storm on Jupiter is 2 x 8,000 miles = 16,000 miles edge to edge, yet on Jupiter it’s no more than a pimple on a gnat’s hindmost quarters.
Now if Bush used his mechanical device to steer THAT storm into New Orleans, Mr. J. Wright might have a point.

Beerme #12: Tsk, tsk. Schadenfreude is an ugly thing, Beerme. It’s so … so mean-spirited !
Consider how painful it must be for Hillary to know that her fellow Democrats regard the Clintons with the same mixture of fear & loathing as does the dread vast right wing conspiracy ! It would be bad enough if they were simply implying that Hillary was wishin’ and hopin’ for an assassin to take B.O. out. But I would bet you green money that there are lunatics on the Daily Kos right now, speculating like a bunch of drug-addled 9/11 “Truthersâ€, accusing Mrs. Clinton of actually taking out a “contract†on Barack ! Lo, how the mighty have fallen !

The American’s Creed is the official creed of the United States of America. It was written in 1917 by William Tyler Page as an entry into a patriotic contest. It was adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives the next year.
The text of the American’s Creed is:
“I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the People, by the People, for the People; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; A democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many Sovereign States; a perfect Union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of Freedom, Equality, Justice, and Humanity for which American Patriots sacrificed their Lives and Fortunes.
I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to Love it; to Support its Constitution; to obey its laws; to Respect its Flag; and to defend it against all enemies.”
This is part of the “Swearing in” ceremony that all new Naturalized citizens must recite and swear to before being granted citizenship.
I doubt that there are very many (if any) Mexican Flag waving illegals who could recite this with a straight face.

Re: my #26 - Better yet and probably more accurate, I doubt that there are very many liberals (both Democrats and RINOS) who could (or even would) recite “The American’s Creed” and sign their name to a written copy as they were so quick to sign Dingy Harry’s “smear letter” about Rush.

Yeah. I watched the event on NASA-TV with my left eye while watching the 600-miler with the other.
The the last few minutes of EDL were actually quite exciting; especially considering the 15-minute (at the speed of light) delay of the radio waves and the statistical 50/50 chance of survival.
Since there were two satellites overhead as it landed, I’m hoping there will be pictures from their perspectives-there’s already tons of images from Phoenix itself.
