(2008-03-13) — Just a day after Hillary Clinton repudiated Geraldine Ferraro’s suggestion that Barack Obama’s presidential bid has succeeded in part for racial reasons, Sen. Clinton assailed her rival for what she called “a betrayal of Affirmative Action programs spawned by the Civil Rights movement, and therefore, a betrayal African-Americans in general.”
“My good friend Geraldine Ferraro was wrong to say that my opponent succeeds because he’s black,” said Sen. Clinton. “In fact, the problem with Sen. Obama, for Democrats, is precisely that he has succeeded without regard to his race. This is deeply disturbing and against our fundamental principles.”
“Black voters need to take a serious look at the way Sen. Obama has achieved his national prominence,” Mrs. Clinton told an evening forum sponsored by the National Newspaper Publishers Association, a group of more than 200 black community newspapers across the country. “His arrogant, ‘pull yourself up by your own bootstraps’ mentality, implies that my brothers and sisters who have received a leg up from Affirmative Action are somehow inferior.”
Sen. Clinton added, “The fact that Sen. Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, served six years in the Illinois state legislature, got elected as a U.S. senator, and now runs a 50-state presidential campaign that’s raising more money, winning more votes and capturing more delegates than mine, all points to a disturbing pattern of hard work and vigorous competition. His whole life is an endorsement of the kind of meritocracy that Democrats have rejected for decades.”

Great ideas are born of adversity:
Hows about President Bush declares a Nat’l Emergency and recalls 100% of our Military and equipment home, from all countries, Federally activate all National Guard. Station them on our borders and seal our borders imo Krazy Glue.
The military can be retrained to work drilling oil wells in ANWR offshore in the Gulf and off California.
Occupy the offices of The Sierra Club putting all their members in park mode at Gitmo for the duration along with the Anti american liberals connected with our government. They are so keen on Cuba and Venezuela - give them our version and see how they like it.
and then, and then, and then….. Get the job finished by Jan. 20, 2009; and let the incoming President try to figure it out.
