As neo-lib presidential candidate John McCain heads for the Republican nomination, and a November thrashing at the hands of Sen. Barack Obama or Sen. Hillary Clinton, conservatives across the land endure the dark night of the soul, wrestling with their consciences.
We reason in our hearts that at least Sen. McCain is right on fighting terrorists in Iraq, though he would be kinder and gentler interrogating those who strap bombs to retarded women and remotely trigger them in public pet markets.
At least, President McCain would maintain Gen. David Petraeus’ strategy for crushing al Qaeda door-to-door in the cities, and winning over the tribal leaders in the provinces.
At least, President McCain could stare down Iran’s Ahmadinejad and North Korea’s Dear Leader. One can even hear him echo President Reagan’s determined word to the Russian leader who sells nuke-tech to Iran: “Nyet!”
Of course, this doesn’t assuage conservatives who feel they’re watching from the beach as the prow of the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan slips beneath the foam.

A very short clip about Raines:
Ex-Editor Howell Raines Lashes Out at “Petroleum Republicans” & Romney
Here’s what Raines said Tuesday night, according to a Nexis transcript:
“To me, the big story tonight is the inability of the Republican establishment, the corporate Republicans, the Wall Street Republicans the petroleum Republicans, aided and abetted by the conservative talk show hosts, the inability of all of those horses to drag Mitt Romney across the finish line.”
I’ll vote for Romney in November, if on the ticket, if not I’ll vote for The HillBilly, Inc.
McCain or The HillBilly, Inc. = flushed into the sewer; better it happen on their watch than ours.

“A Democrat-nominated inflatable porpoise would pull at least 49 percent of the popular vote in a general election.”
Too funny, Scott! But in all seriousness, Team America would make voting for McShame a lot more palatable. Unfortunately, the level of arrogance at which the Old Man operates would probably prevent him from taking your sage advice.

I’ve read other speculations along these lines, mostly regarding possible VP choices. I’m reminded of what “Cactus Jack” Garner of Texas, F.D.R.’s Vice President from 1933 to 1941, said: “The Vice Presidency is not worth a pitcher of warm spit.” OK, actually, he referred to another bodily fluid, but you get the idea.
The President is The Man. He is, as Bush put it, The Decider. John McCain can promise us the moon and stars if he cares to, but who among us is willing to trust him to fulfill his promises? And if we don’t trust him, why should we be reassured by his subordinate appointments, who after all “serve at the pleasure of the President”?

BTW, did you know that John McCain served in Vietnam?

McCain is suffering from Stockholm syndrome. He identifies with his former captors who share the same ideology with the Dhimmicrat Party. He, therefore, is always trying to please them by crossing the aisle.
It’s not about Campaign Finance Reform per se. It’s about the mindset that blames an inanimate object (money) for corruption instead of the individual. I’m afraid that is the same mindset that blames guns for violence. And if you’re going down that road, why not blame cars for drunk driving?
I also don’t consider reaching across the aisle to a party that has given aid and comfort to the enemy at a time of war, a virtuous act.
All that being said, we cant’ let the Dhimms win. It could harm our country for many years after they are gone. Look at the damage we are still dealing with from the 60s.

Sure; the question is, on which side?

Yes, it does appear, The HillBilly, Inc. is attempting a hostile takeover of MORONS “R” US.

Well, at least John McCain causes Harry Reid to wet his pants as the thought of a McCain presidency “sends chills down (his) spine.”
Now is that chills of anticipation, chills that McCain is too liberal for even Harry Reid or chills that McCain might actually lead from the right of center?
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1
Is God not so sovereign that He can’t turn the heart of John McCain? At least McCain appears to be willing to reconcile with conservatives, something that neither Obama or sHrillary have any intention of doing come hell or high water. And the Bible is also replete with accounts of stiff-necked rulers and how their lives and sometimes their nations were broken beyond repair. Yeah, yeah, with McCain, or any politician for that matter, it might be a case of political calculation to “shore up the base” but I ask again … is God not so sovereign that He can’t turn the heart of John McCain?
As a matter of principle, I voted yesterday for the person who I thought was the best choice of the candidates put before me and that was Romney … and he got seriously whacked in the People’s Republic of Illinois.
In November, if it comes down to a choice between McCain or sHrillary/Obama, I will once again make the best choice I can between those put before me and at the same time pray God that He turns the heart of this president like rivers of water.
In anything we do in life we have both the duty and responsibility to make the best choice we can even under the most difficult of circumstances and then leave the results to God. Sitting on the sidelines and grumbling in November is not an option.

A pretty much non-viable option:
That would get the message out—perhaps…..
Countless ululating pockets of flames disbursed throughout the USA and visible from Outer Space.
It will be known throughout History as The Day the USA Imploded and Took Down the Rest of the World with It.
In the meantime, I will be praying for the Lord to come back real soon, please.

Darth & JL3 It may be that God has already Given us over.
Rom. 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
Rom. 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Rom. 1:24 ¶ Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
Rom. 1:25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Rom. 1:26 ¶ For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
Rom. 1:27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
Rom. 1:28 ¶ And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
Rom. 1:29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
Rom. 1:30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
Rom. 1:31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
Rom. 1:32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
Rom. 2:1 ¶ Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
Rom. 2:2 And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things.
Rom. 2:3 But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God?
Rom. 2:4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
Rom. 2:5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
Rom. 2:6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:
Rom. 1:32 “….. but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.”

This is fun.
Hugh Hewitt for Ambassador to the UN.
Ralph Nader for consumer safety.
Ron Paul for Treasury.

“Ron Paul for Treasury.”
Is that one of the Departments he wants to shut down?
16 Effeminem // Feb 7, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Nah, but he wants to go back to the gold standard. It’s a bad idea, but not as bad as it seems at first.

Have you vetted that site?
There’s something bad in the air , there.
Additionally, I’d really like to see anyone who underwent some serious torture NOT make a recording.
Heck, if I were subjected to just some of the minor tortures, I’d say I’ve always though Hillary was the most desirable woman in the word — just to get them to stop.
And lastly, unlike those who served with Jon F’n Kerry, there’s not a word against McC’s conduct during his Vietnam service. from one of his fellow service members.
And NO . . . I did not support a McCain candidacy — I’ve disagreed with ‘most everything he’s done as a senator . . . but garbage like you’ve linked to is just wrong.
I’d expect it from a Mikhail Moore wanna-be like ET, but not you
