(2007-11-15) — Officials with the Nevada Democratic Party and CNN today granted a request from Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign that the former First Lady be allowed time during tonight’s presidential debate to deliver rebuttals to any statements she makes with which she disagrees.
The concession, granted only to Sen. Clinton, will help “prevent the debate from becoming a circus in which the reporters ‘play gotcha’ and the other candidates spend the night piling on the presumptive Democrat nominee,” according to a joint statement from the event sponsors issued through the Clinton campaign.
During a recent debate in Philadelphia, Sen. Clinton found herself at odds with her position on granting driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. However, her campaign felt she didn’t get adequate time to refute her remarks on the issue.
“In all fairness,” said CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, who will moderate the Nevada debate, “Sen. Clinton, as the presumptive nominee, should not have to remain silent while one of the candidates mis-characterizes her positions, even if she happens to be that candidate. When that happens, we’ll give her a minute to respond.”

In the words of Vinnie Barbarino … I’M SO CONFUSED!
The scary thing is 90% of the Donks think she’s being completely honest and cogent. Cognitive dissonance on public display.

It all seems so familiar, somehow…

Are they allowing her unlimited rebuttals to the same issue or just one. This could be very important what with instant polls, audience and fellow debater reaction, and the like. She must be allowed, in all fairness, to be able to change her position in a flash, on a dime as it were (well under Rangel’s tax plan it would be more like a nickel).
Regards,

Nothing like talking to a mirror. Best way to debate-argue with yourself.
Remember, Wolf Blitzer was told by the Clintonian operatives to ease off on Hillary.
Gestapo anyone?

It is whatever plays best to whoever she happens to be trying to inpress at the time. To think that there are appearently people in the USA that believe she is the best thing since sliced bread, is rather scarey.
I know that there many who will agree with me on that issue, including, (depending on weather she believes it will beneifit her at the time), queen sHillary herself.

In sHrillary’s world “triangulation” consists of a zig-zag.
7 Darthmeister // Nov 15, 2007 at 9:25 am
I guess by debating herself sHrillary IS equal time. Republicans and conservatives need not apply.

Speaking of piling, are they serving waffles? I haven’t had a good stack of those since the Kerry campaign. Yum, yum.
(By the way, today’s the first day of deer season in Michigan. Think Hillary will drop in to get her a huntin’ license?)

If 7 is the number of completion, then she has only one rebuttal left re the illegal aliens driver’s licence issue. She has already used up 6 positions.

Gafisher,
She will probably wait for the “Bull”Season” to open so she can shoot it.

Good morning all. Made it thru Tuesday’s ordeal and am at least lucid today! The pain is awful and I am such a weeny, but it will pass and I am almost walking. Doctors are amazing.
Gafisher: Re #8, if she does, I am wondering if she has taken lessons from Kerry and will be feeling the thrill of crawling on her belly toward her prey with the excitement welling up inside as she readies her double barrelled shotgun to get that deer. Kerry’s venison must be kinda crunchy - that is - whatever is left of it after a shotgun blast. I think he was having flashbacks to VietNam. What a maroon.

Back from a great tour of DC. Amazing! We were at Arlington for Veterans Day and were three rows back from Dick Cheney! WOW!

Hillery needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.
Voters don’t want cadidates that are truthful: voters want cadidates that sound truthful.
If you really want to look presidential, just tell’em that you answer to a higher authority.
That is the kind of stuff that makes our citizens stand up in the pews and cheer. Like is says on the money, “In God We Trust”. Best as I can see everyone in our government bows before the almighty buck.

If she were allowed to solely debate herself without anybody else on stage, things would become a lot clearer for the misunderstood among us.

an speaking of piling on….. Bill will be in the back seat of a car…piling on during the debate
17 Darthmeister // Nov 15, 2007 at 1:42 pm
It looks like sHrillary is angling to become her own Vice President, too. But then again it may be the case Bill will be her proxy VP.
I tremble for my country …

Who is “Hillery,” and what is a “cadidate?”
19 MajorDomo // Nov 15, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Shapsie: Voters don’t want cadidates that are truthful: voters want cadidates that sound truthful.” Voters want candidates who promise them goodies; to heck with the rest! It’s too difficult to think.
By the way: “Triangulation” is a relatively new term that describes what used to be called “two-faced politician”. Time was when that was the greatest insult one could level at a pol.

da Bunny,
Not too sure who or what a Hillery is, but I think a Cadidate is a romantic evening with a golf club transport engineer.

Good one Scott.

Hillary needs more time to “re-butt”, eh?

c.a.t.
Glad to see you back swinging. Like all things, the pain will pass, even for weenies!
24 conserve-a-tips // Nov 15, 2007 at 3:42 pm
Thanks, Ms Rightwing, Ink. Swinging? I don’t think so, but I guess we can imagine, huh?
Oh, and you are right, even weenies are honored. God sees the Christ in me, not the weenie!!
At least I get a handicap sticker until after Christmas. Parking right in front of the stores! Wow. I might actually shop.
25 meesterbig // Nov 15, 2007 at 3:54 pm
“Hillary needs more time to “re-buttâ€, eh?”
….. or is it, re-thigh?

Glad to see you back c-a-t, God can’t be nothin’ but good! I am wondering about the timing of this whole thing now - front row parking through the Christmas is about the birth of Christ season? Sounds suspicious to me….

OT- Her acquaitances have always been awed at sHillary’s ability to have meaningful discussions / debates with herself, some lasting the better part of a week.
I hear that she is both a “pro” and a “con”.
God have pity on us seeing as many American voters actually think of her as being a viable candidate.
29 prettyold // Nov 15, 2007 at 10:16 pm
And never forget all Hillary’s debates with Eleanor Roosevelt, and you just know they were debates,no way those two would ever be able to agree on anything.
30 prettyold // Nov 17, 2007 at 9:33 pm
Personally ,I have always thought Hillary has enough buttal and is making a <b.BIG mistake by taking any more rebuttal.
