Iran Takes British Hostages for 'Peaceful Purposes'

by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 14 Comments · · Print This Story Print This Story

(2007-03-25) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that his forces took 15 British sailors and marines as hostages for “peaceful purposes,” and that no other nation has the right to determine whether Iran can “develop and test kidnapping technology.”

Mr. Ahmadinejad also accused the British and U.S. governments, who have protested the incident, of “interfering with long-standing cultural traditions in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

“We are a people who value the capture and detention of westerners,” said Mr. Ahmadinejad. “Our great Islamic revolution achieved world prominence more than 25 years ago when we held 52 Americans for 444 days. So hostage-taking is a sacred rite among us, and a solemn obligation.”

The Iranian leader added, “We do not expect narrow-minded godless monsters like Tony Blair and George Bush to understand our peaceful religious culture, but we insist that they respect it.”

Yes, a sacred right. Perhaps Britain has a sacred right to protect her citizens with a little muscle. Hmmm

Those wiley Iranians. Of course it was for peaceful purposes, why else would the Democrats constantly warn Chimperor Bush not to act provocatively toward Iran or interfere with their peaceful use of nuclear power? We’re in no position to judge the Iranian’s motives in this, I’m sure they have their Allah-given reasons to do what they did.

This is just one more example of Iranian Muslims speaking truth to power … in this case to Britain.

It’s been four (4) years now. - From “the Boston Globe”I get from the news media that in 20005 alone there was 6,082 motorcycle deaths in America with an overall total of 43,443 traffic fatalities for the year. A .01% increase from 2004. The liberals in their “Get Bush” program, wail, weep and bemoan the # of Americans Bush has killed.

If there was any real concern for needless deaths then attention would be focused on America’s streets and highways - not the relative few deaths in Iraq. more than double is the number of motorcycles deaths in 1 year than the combined total of four years of war. (average 659.25 combat deaths per year - to date).

So the daily updates on losses in Iraq can only be political posturing by the left.

Or, in a nutshell “Liberals are liberals” and that says it all.

I am hearing “death penalty” from “I’m am a madman”. The Brits have their way of muddling though these crises. I seem to recall some fuss about the Falkland Islands a few years back.

We may call the Brits sissys, and pick on them for political correctness. On the other hand, I wouldn’t want to start a war them. They are extremely intrepid, and don’t take prisoners.

Those sailors should be returned a.s.a.p.

Er, not start a war “with” them.

We barely beat them during The Revolution. They drink bad tea and eat strange food, but I wouldn’t want to take Mr. “I’m-a madman’s” path and start a war with the Brits. Trust me, Mr. Dictator. Those people will kick you around the block.

They also build some of the finest tanks in the world.

The British navy is legendary. Great Satan America beat them by a hair’s breadth. You are fooling with disaster.

Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheeps clothing but inwardly they are ravaging wolves.

I’m hearing prophesy that the liberals are going to be in the oval office in 08. I think they may be right. There well may be some liberals among the maids and janitors who will be tasked with keeping the oval office clean.

I’m hearing prophesy that the Religion of Peace will dominate the world. I think they may be right, we recognize that they may well dominate the world of 7-11’s and taxicabs. With their close relationship to petroleum they may well come to dominate the world of gas station attendents (pumping our gas, checking the air in our tires and washing our windshields)

I’m hearing prophesy that the current nation of Mexifornia will engulf America which of course will be renamed “North Mexico” and they may come to dominate the world of shoe shines, table busing and cotton picking (apples, grapes, oranges, etc.)

Watch out for false prophets, some of them might not be false.
