(2008-06-11) — Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs announced today that product development cycles at the Cupertino, California, firm have become so fast that the company plans to release iPhone 3.0 at the end of June, more than a week before the previously scheduled release of version 2.0.
The second new edition of the popular mobile computing platform to be announced this week, iPhone 3.0 is even thinner and more powerful than the unreleased 2.0 model.
“iPhone 3.0 will sell for only $19.99,” said Mr. Jobs, “and it’s so amazingly cool you’ll feel like an idiot that you even got excited when I announced version 2.0 earlier this week.”
The unreleased version 2.0 will go from “instant classic” to obsolete without ever being sold to a single customer.
Of course, most owners of the original iPhone had already sold their devices on eBay to avoid the embarrassment of being caught on July 11 with old technology in hand.

The new iPhone 3.0® bypasses the soon-to-be passé G3 network standard, connecting through Apple’s new G-wiz® network at data speeds “faster than T-1.” When used in areas not yet equipped with G-wiz, the iPhone 3.0® conveniently defaults to Channel 21 on the Citizens Band, breaker breaker.
Music downloading is facilitated on the iPhone 3.0® using iTunes 9®, which will run on any computer equipped with the upcoming Apple® Ocelot® operating system. Ocelot® (aka OS-A-Lot®) runs on any Macintosh® built with Apple’s planned Power Platform 8® processor, a quantum-computing CPU which will utilize yet to be discovered zero-point energy technology to reduce energy needs and, in conjunction with OS-A-Lot®, eliminate Apple’s heretofore embarrassing Carbon® footprint. (A version of iTunes 9® for Windowsâ„¢ 8.1 is expected to follow.)

Technology is not my thing, but I was wondering…maybe Obama should make his advisors obselete before he presents them to the public, too? It sounds like Apple at least allowed for some form of vetting, unlike the supposed “messiah.”

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have rights under the Constitution to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts. (View video report)
The justices handed the Bush administration its third setback at the high court since 2004 over its treatment of prisoners who are being held indefinitely and without charges at the U.S. naval base in Cuba. The vote was 5-4, with the court’s liberal justices in the majority. Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the court, said, “The laws and Constitution are designed to survive, and remain in force, in extraordinary times.”
Just how barefaced can you lie? Just ask Justice Anthony Kennedy - he knows all there is know about it.
He should have told the truth (as he sees it) and said “The laws and Constitution are designed to survive, and remain in force, except in such times when we liberal left Anti-American Democrats decide to suspend the Constitution and override the President’s authority, like we have just demonstrated that we can do. What’s more we can do whatever we want, whenever we want, and you can’t do a cotton picking thing about it.â€

They do change the dynamics of bar arguments. Used to be we could debate this 0r that arcane matter all night. Now we just look it up. It does allow for more varied arguments/a wider range of topics though which is nice.

I would like to know who has the time to sit/stand/lie around staring at an itty-bitty screen with itty-bitty speakers implanted in their itty-bitty earholes?
In my opinion, the “apathy and complacency” “syndrome” mentioned in the comments here on ScrappleFace in the recent past is a direct result of the fallacious, even heinous, concept, spawned Wayback in the day, that watching TV is “something to do.”

So Congress (liberals) want to tax obscene windfall profits do they? They do.
I’m a sneaky, conniving plotter of nefarious deeds! I think that if you stop, or threaten to stop feeding your horse, then if your horse had a human type conservative brain, he would stop pulling your wagon. If they tax away oil companies profits, there will be a suspension of dividends, that will result, everyone (mostly) will stop buying their stock, those with stock will dump their shares on the open market - value of the stock will bottom out at zero, the companies will suspend operations, declare bankruptcy, shut their doors and go out of business.
The country is so dependent on gas that it would have to be imported and $10 - 20 dollars a gallon will be cheap. Businesses dependent on gas would go out of business. The current taxes being paid would stop, hundreds of thousands - millions of people would lose their jobs, and Income Tax, currently being deducted from their paychecks would stop. The entire country would grind to a halt. Social Security checks would stop and with no money in the till, all entitlement programs would stop and the depression of the 1930’s would be remembered as schoolyard hijinks, kids play or maybe “Romper Room Rodeo”.
And thats when the Liberal Leftist plan to take over the entire country. But to their surprise, there will be no taking over, since with no military - no money to pay the troops - no gas for their tanks and trucks, our military will have disbanded. The Muslims will have already taken over, instituted Sharia Law, executed by beheading all Sodomites, prostitutes and females who wear short skirts (not dragging the ground) or aren’t wearing the veil.
The crazy days lay ahead and I’m thankful that at my age I won’t be around to have to witness most of it. With America’s kowtowing to the Muslim’s demands as is happening right now, I’m seeing the start of part of it.
It would be educational to see the results if all oil companies would stop all sales (excepting plainly marked emergency vehicles) for exactly three days. The ensuing chaos might open ANWR and all other drilling locations.

And Oh boy, when Obologna is elected President the world will be perfected. Team him up with a bunch of liberal kooks in Congress and their age old dreams will come true. Liberalism will soon take America to her grave and some people are ready to dance in the streets. Of course, the real poison is the rejection of God and the embracing of many evils that the liberals eagerly promote, even the coming messiah himself is complicit in our coming destruction. I hope they enjoy everything that they bring upon us, the rest of us ain’t that stupid.

e.t. #23 - Yes e.t. you’re all too correct, McClellan is right up there with Judge Kennedy but neither of them can compare with Hillbilly, Inc.
But from what I’m finding out, BO doesn’t lie. He tells the truth just as it is fed to him by his stringers. I think he is what is referred to as a marionette. A puppet, whose movements are controlled by a stringer, or maybe he’s just a ventriloquist’s dummy like Charlie McCarthy with modern day Edgar Bergen (Like George Soros and Nancy Pelosi giving him all of his talking points.)
Geez e.t. is right for once!

Libby Gone: the 500 series was OK, but the 300s were much tougher. Those (and the 5302 hybrid) were the last phones that made you feel really good when you slammed down the receiver.
One year while I was in college I had a job calibrating phone dials; the timing of the make-and-break contacts is fairly critical so they occasionally (though rarely) need(ed) to be brought back into spec to correct “wrong number dialed” complaints. It’s amazing to me that it’s still possible to plug a dial phone into almost any public phone system and expect it to work. Unlike televisions next year …

I’m not a triskaidekaphobe, but I find the phobia amusing and got a good laugh when my wife and I stayed in a respected Boston hotel some years ago and found ourselves in room 1414: the hotel had no floor marked as the 13th, and room designations likewise skipped that number, so of course we were actually in room 13 on the 13th floor.
